They gave up on trying to put me in a barber's chair a long time ago. I don't react as badly to it as the dentist, but almost. My mom or aunt cut it for me.

I don't like going to the hairdresser either, feel uncomfortable about small talk, find the whole ordeal quite painful (when they give you head massages, or twist the ears to cut the hair behind them... ugh!). That being said, I've gone to the same hairdresser now for 15 years, and I don't even live in the country where she is located anymore; that's the reason why I only cut my hair when I'm back visiting (about twice a year). She knows I'm not big on small talk, I don't like pressure on my head, etc. It's kind of easy to do when having long hair, and the fringe I cut it out myself. I'm not sure what I'm going to do if this stops being an option, probably will have to find the way to do it all by myself 8O

I feel good after getting a haircut. When it gets too long, I feel frustrated because it becomes unmanageable.

I was just thinking about this. Since I was little, my mom took me to the same person for haircuts, so I don't have a problem as long as it is her cutting my hair. If someone else did it, I wouldn't be comfortable with it. My mom's hairdresser knows about my Autism and that I'm not good at conversation. I only go for professional haircuts every couple of years still. Other times, I let my older sister just trim the ends.

I cut my own hair. Cheaper, easier and quicker.

I call it "The Bobby Hill."

I've tried to cut my own hair.

I do such a bad job that I had to shave my head each time I tried to cut my own hair.

I think the only way a guy can cut his own hair is with clippers and give himself a buzz cut.

I've worn my hair long since I was like 11 years old, my parents probably should of never let me grew it out to begin with but I think it's a combination of anxiety over the chit chat and some weird OCD thing about changing my appearance. I've been toying with the idea of getting it cut for awhile now since I don't have the best hairline and I'd rather not look like Hulk Hogan down the road so it might be best to get it over with before it really starts to go. I've been shaving recently too, I can't grow a beard and honestly don't really need to shave but I look better having done it and I'm glad I've started too which is part of the reason why I've been warming up to getting my hair cut. It seems really stupid since it's so normal for everyone else but its something that stresses me out a great deal for reasons I can't really explain.

I had mid-back long hair twice over about seven years. The only thing I can say about it is that other long-hairs who say that having long hair in the American Southwest during summer "isn't hot" are lying! Now what does that say about me doing it TWICE?!? Hehe.

Yes, that's me except with 30 year old sideburns that come down to my neck. I did the whole long hair thing back in the 70s. Nowadays, anything over an inch and I feel like a hippy and I head for the Wahl :)

I love having my hair stroked ( indian head massage ) but if my hair is pulled I feel a lot of pain. I'd prefer a punch in the face than having my hair pulled

My hair only needs the occasional shortening. A friend of my mother's used to be a professional barber, so whenever we need her services, we call her up. Saves money.

I did do an experimental little haircut once, though. Turned out pretty swell.

Haircuts is a hypersensitivity of mine. I really don't like getting it cut, as it makes me really uncomfortable, and the fact that I would just like my hair to be left alone. At the moment, my hair is really long, but sadly it needs occasional trims now and then, and that worries me mostly due to what it will turn out like :(
