As you can see, I'm not an advocate of the nice, fluffy form of "support" that Yoshie's pushing. Never had much use for it myself. However, I respect people...up until they tell me to go rot in hell. Then I prefer to switch to brutal honesty - that is, on a forum with hundreds of members, you're essentially no one to most of us here. So this big announcement is just narcissism in my book. Get over yourself. You should have be more dignified and simply PM'd those few people you deem worthy, then left quietly. Now, when you do inevitably return, people like me will simply think you're an attention-seeking a$$. Or should I say "emo tard"?

I agree with the statement that he should have just left quietly.
It is also possible that he is having a hard time, possibly didn't think of this method of leaving. Maybe he is actually frustrated and does want validation - things like this happen when the mind is in panic or lost or whatever. We don't know whats going on in his head. Also, its possible he doesn't actually know if anyone he liked liked him back thus the anxiety of PMing someone which would make a message like this easier. While there were many different ways to go about something like this there are many different possibilities as to why he did something like this.

Furthermore while agreed on your, "in a message board full of thousands of people you are nobody to most of them" you yourself took his comment personally. You jumped to the conclusion or assumed that he was directing his comment on how the rest of you can all go to hell directly to you instead of looking at it objectively as it was simply a general statement and means - on a message board filled with thousands of people- nothing to one person specifically.

As for Yoshi, its rather simple for someone to claim they have AS, its also rather simple if you're smart to fool someone into something like this its called being an intelligent hypochondriac. Thus I highly doubt that there will really be any way to definitely tell if one has AS or not anytime soon, nice as it might be.

As for you snake, I don't know you well and understand the frustration this board can bring. Like some other people suggested if you must leave than leave but take a break and you're always welcomed back if you wish to return.

Alright, alright. Maybe I spoke out of line. For that I apologize. It's just that I don't trust a lot of people. My family has been deceived countless times over the past few months. You could kind of say that I was venting my distrust of NTs due to these events, along with what I read in the articles or see on the news.

To me, writing comments on forums is like writing an essay. I make mistakes either with ideas, context, grammar, etc. That is why I fix them so that my ideas can appeal to as many people as possible. It's almost impossible to have everyone agree with one's ideas.

You people are right. You DON'T know who has AS or not. It's the Internet, not a clinic. Anyway, I'm just a little concerned that some people like Snake either lose interest or trust in everyone. It is sad to see him go. But, this site is always open. Again, I apologize for what I've said.

No need to apologize, I see where you're coming from as well.
Just throwing about some different points of view for people to ponder over.
I really don't trust many people either - for something that doesn't have concretes like a message board where you don't KNOW everyones intention and people all work differently its definitely hard and can send someone into frustration, panic and overload.

I'm still have a problem with these accusations of NTs supposedly infiltrating the board because they want it as some sort of "culture".

Maybe I'm being naive, but I operate from the assumption that 99.99999% of people pick the setting that's closest to what they are. And by and large, people seem really nice here.

That's true. I guess that's why Alex created the option of joining this site if one thinks or is close to having AS or Autism.

I looked it up recently (after hearing complaints here), so it's my new word for the day.

Besides, this happens regularly on online forums. Someone shows up, stays a few months and then thinks that somehow it's not like it used to be in the "good old days" (i.e, whenever they showed up) and now it is overrun with people they deem beneath them. I don't pretend to undertsand this weird phenomenon, but it happens on all the forums I've participated on for any length of time.

I agree with this. Yes I am new and yes I have seen this two or three times in the last couple of weeks.
OK whatever, if you don't like it here, leave. Simple solution. Don't like the people coming here, don't want to hang out with them? Cool! Don't. Want to make broad categorisations about new people coming here, fine but don't expect me to be embracing you if you return nor expect good treatment from any of the others you may have unwittingly insulted, for the crime of being new.

I suspect the same type of people that were drawn to this site a year ago when you joined are the same types you join a year later and probably not that far removed from those who wil join in a couple of years from now. I think the problem lies with you and I think you should get over your issues and either apologise for being a jerk or leave and spare us your martyrdom or ego....Bye all the very best!
