I very often have dreams like that too when I sleep and need to go. (I always have to go when I wake from these dreams, therefore the conclusion).
If I'm out and about in the dream, I think of going in the woods or in empty rooms, or if there are toilets there, they are big or without walls so there is no privacy, or people are around me etc. If I'm home in the dream, there is something hindering me in going there, like a lot of things being in the bathroom or the toilet being out of order in some way.

Makes sense! It's how I knew I wet the bed as a kid before I even woke up. I guess my dreams never changed how they reacted to having to go. I just couldn't hold it before. Always thought the dreams caused the bedwetting, not the other way around. My life makes sense now!

It was said that notable, ASD person, Robert Durst, would pee into trashcans.

He also peed on candy at a grocery store.

It's not an asd thing. My mom's dog used to pee on the carpet until it was properly trained. If you didn't know why you did it, then it may be dementia related or something.

Yeah, thats pretty normal. Keep in mind this is AS, and AS's effects don't change as you age. I imagine most aspies have done similar stuff.

Own up people, everyone's done it in a shower at least once.
You say you don't know why you did it, but abnormal peeing habits can have autism related causes - I know I have avoided toilets and done so in showers/outside/other places I'm less likely to own up to because of the flushing issue, as mentioned elsewhere here. Cannot stand the noise of flushing toilets, and others give me grief for not flushing it = finding somewhere else to do it to avoid the issue. Could be similar for you.

I don't know if it's ASD related. The other day my 7 year old peed on the throw pillows in the living room. He was asleep on the couch, and then was too lazy/ scared to go to the bathroom. He is quite lazy about bathroom habits. He doesn't wipe his butt. He's gotten better about lifting the seat to pee though.

When I was a teen I used to spit on my carpet. A lot. Maybe it was ASD related. Idk.

I know of a young child that wouldn't wear clothes and once peed on my friends leg.

These things may signal a lack of maturity, which is something characteristic of autism. I understand feeling ashamed. You know better now, so you do better. It just takes us longer to catch on. We do learn though.

I have never peed in the shower, although a lot of people say they have.
But I have a thing about peeing in a toilet - whenever I pee it has to be in a toilet, otherwise I get anxious doing it elsewhere, even in the sea.

I remember when I was about 5, I was walking in the woods with my grandfather and my brother, and I really wanted to pee. My grandfather encouraged me to just go in a bush, so I pulled my shorts off, but I was too scared to pee without a toilet, so I put my shorts on again and started to cry. So my grandfather had to take me to the nearest toilet, where I peed comfortably.
So I've always been funny about peeing without a toilet, even as young as 5 years old.

I suppose it's understandable if a person on the spectrum avoids toilets for a reason, but an average-above intelligent person just getting his penis out and peeing on the floor for no reason seems odd to me. Is there a reason you peed on the floor?

I've been known to p!ss myself from time to time. I've also been known to whip it out, discreetly, in public.

I've started having issues controlling my bladder after I have had laser lithotripsy to break up kidney stones. That was 2 years ago, and I occasionally still have issues with it.

That's pretty rude, comparing the behavior of aspies to dogs.

When I was about 15 I ended up peeing in the tent while camping because no one would tell me to go to the bathroom. I knew I needed to go to the bathroom but I just couldn't bring myself to go without any prompting. It was incredibly embarrassing but luckily I've gotten better at things like this.

So you just did this for about a year? Whatever it was seems to have been a temporary quirk.

That said, I've known of that behavior to exist in autistics, but usually younger and or severely autistic. Not that either is some kind of requirement.

So I have my ASD assessment tomorrow,as some of you will know. My goal is to lay my *whole* life history down on the line and tell it honestly. Obviously,I want to keep it relevant. Is this relevant to ASD >

Here it goes -

When I was 19/20,I used to pee mostly on the carpet as opposed to the toilet like normal humans do. I do not know why, either.

That was hard to write.

So,I've just embarrassed myself online, but would I go ahead and do the same publicly with the psychiatrist tomorrow afternoon?

What was I thinking? Aspergers trait? I do hope so. If not,it's just my warped, sick self.

Out of interest, what is it in the last 5 years which has stopped you weeing on the floor?
I mean I've know NT people in their teens do it. Whats the motivation for it, laziness or some sort of sensory reason? or lack of understanding that wee goes in the toilet.

Either way, you'll be ok pal hardest part is saying these things.

I have autism and I never had problems with peeing in the toilet. I always peed just fine in the toilet. It's me pooping and wiping myself that was the problem. Used to hate pooping and having to wipe myself. And not do it. Didn't know how to do it til I was 10. But I don't know if that's an autism trait or not.

One of my older brothers did that, #2/5, I am #5/5. He did it because of emotional instability over there being too many kids in the house and he wanted to "mark" a new area his.

That was nothing... what's more important is are you well-adjusted within the family?

repression over "never getting to see a woman's tits when you were 10 like they do in the R movies you snuck and watched a few times.

>I have those same dreams--usually meaning I am about to awaken with a very full bladder!

You were not getting enough REM sleep. Noise or kicking from a sibling or a blaring TV down the hall.

Like me, you don't like the sound of your urine stream hitting the water.
