What about hyenas? And tapeworms?

Aww! Thumb's a sugar glider yes?

Yeah it is tiring! Of course the feeds gradually reduce in frequency as they grow older.

I must admit to liking Spotted Hyenas. They look real nice and have a tremendous neck. Their behaviour with other African animals is very unpleasant; so I can't condone that of course. But nature is nature.
As a boy I had a model hyena which I treasured.
They would make ferocious guard "dogs". Apparently they can chew through a scaffold pole!!
A hand reared orphan might just about get on in a domestic environment, but that is just a silly fantasy of mine. They belong in the wild.

That is awesome! I love squirrels..they are among my favorite animals. I am always repremanding them from my bike about the dangers of crossing the street.

I only trust myself with cats though.

Our office cat, Khitee is a little neurotic, and Flakey jokes that she is Autistic.
She always has this intense doleful look on her face and this plaintive meow...she will meowwww and meowww and meowww...but if you mock her, she will hiss at you.

Most of the time, she will run away when you try to pet her, especially if she it outside.
If she is inside, then she will either bolt at the slightest provocation
OR
follow you around and be very purry and affectionate and demand lots of cuddling...OR act like she wanst lots of cuddling but then run away when you try to give it to her.

I read someplace that orange-tabby female cats are rare...and can be prone to a bit of insanity...and that is what we have on our hands. Flakey rescued her from complete feralness when she was a kitten.

An animal shelter would be great! Maybe you'll do that one day if you really want it. Best of luck!

Ee-yew, tapeworms. One of my cats had tapeworms. We gave him some pills, and he no longer has that problem. He is a healthy 12 pound cat.

I've always prefered the company of most animals to most humans(with a few exceptions on both sides).

Yea, I really love critters of all types. A few weeks ago I was talking to the neighbor's cat as if it were a person and the 9 year old girl who lives next door called out "Hi, Bobert" over the fence to let me know she was there. She started giggling and probably went off to tell her parents. It was sort of embarrassing, but really funny if you think about it.

.. What's wrong with Hyenas? I've always liked them. They're both intelligent and stealthy enough that they are trained as assassins in Africa. Tribes often use them to kill the opposing leader in his sleep. Moreover, a Hyena may have been the Beast of Gévaudan - an incident where through the course of three years an unidentified carnivore killed almost 100 people in France.
