Yay VIC is winning! I'm from Melbourne, the greatest city of them all.

I don't know any from Geelong (unless you count my relos who my mum reckons some are on the spectrum), though I have met an aspie dude from Warrnambool. I think Wendy Lawson also lives down that way?

Woohoo, New Zealand, where on the north island?

I've been to Auckland, Rotorua, Hamilton, Wellington (and any places that I passed in between). On the South Island I've been to Picton, Christchurch, Queenstown, Fox Glacier and Greymouth. Though in all I spent most of my time in Christchurch.

I'd like to visit New Zeland someday, but I'm concerned that some of the things I'd like to do there may be illegal. What are the laws like there regarding fireworks, explosives, firearms, and offroad vehicles?

I was thinking that maybe I'd go on a big camping trip there someday and when not out rock climbing or enjoying the scenery, I'd like to do some of the stuff you can't do in city limits. It's normal for people here to go out to the desert and ride motorcycles, have bonfires (oh yeah, is there any law against magnesium bonfires?), set up an improvised shooting range and go target or trap shooting, shoot fireworks, and sometimes light off explosives. There are oither things I was thinking I might do if I ever go there like horseback riding and fly an ultralight around scenic places, but I doubt there would be any legal concerns to worry about for activities like that.

I am from Wellington, New Zealand. Originally from South Island, but lived here for nearly 20 years.

Hya - im an old lady of 31 from the flatlands- Palmy Nth, NZ. 5th lowest sunshine hours in NZ we get here, which explains a lot. Kind of has a sucking motivation whirlpool effect.
Its hard to get out of the central hole, but when you do, you don't have go far to to get an edge. I went up to Anzac Park/ Pork Chop Hill early this morning on my MTB to get some photos with my ol' (those with digitals are gonna wince!) SLR. Very cool and clunky.
Then out to the old Crematorium where its quiet depending on the wind direction. If its an easterly all you can hear are the bloody wind power generators. Before I heard the noise I thought it might be like a lovely sea surf sound, but its not. More like war planes.
It was less than 10 degrees, very spooky and still. (PN-is usually blustery) Bright sunlight, blueforever sky. Everything looks beautiful when you have perspective.

There you go- whole lot about where I have to live and nothing about me. At least i am making contact.

Hi Becca and Geoffrey.

Sounds like rather gloomy town. So's mine (Albany).

Hi, you wouldn't believe it but it's supposed to be winter up here and it is still hot! It's good to see that there's so many Aussies here.
