I took the test twice. Once as the middle aged person I am now. And then as my 12 year old self since I actually had some of the behaviors mentioned on the test when I was a pre teen and a teen that I don't have now. I even put down my age as "12" that time.

It didn't make much difference. I got 1, and 2, respectively. So neither version of myself makes it into the OCD club.

Before I went to the psychologist for the first time about the possibility of being on the spectrum, I did the AQ test about 5 times. When I first saw him about my concerns about possibly being on the spectrum I mentioned that I had done that test 5 times and he told me to stop taking it.


He never forbid me from doing other tests though; I think, at the time, being that the concept of Asperger's was new to me at the time, he was concerned that the test results were causing anxiety for me.

It's interesting though, because he encouraged me to do research into the Autism Spectrum and recommended that I look for articles by Tony Attwood and Michelle Garcia Winner.
