Ferris: have you seen "Steptoe and Son?" It's a "limey" show.

I like "Keeping up Appearances." Especially those seemingly Cockney types who are in contrast to Richard and (I forgot her first name) Bucket (she calls "Bucket" "Buck-ay" in order to sound French and sophisticated).

I've seen them both , I was a lot younger with Steptoe & Sons so found some of it funny ( the catchphrases mostly - u dutty ol man ) . "Keeping up Appearances." was really funny though but it was bitter/sweet as I feel really sorry for Richard every time I watch it , I'd get myself into real trouble if I met someone like Hyacinth IRL

Good question but one I struggle to answer. My autobiographical memory is really poor. I do remember reading quite a lot as a teenager.

I am sure that if you took the time you would remember something from the tv which got you jumping up and down inside.

See now there are people talking about uk tv shows which is an easy topic for everyone to get into.

I watched steptoe and keeping up appearances with mrs bouquet too.
I also like one foot in the grave.

Although I was a young adult when I watched these.

I am not sure any tv program made me jump up and down inside although I liked some programs more than others. It seems I liked Rawhide and Wagon train as a very young child.

I used to really like "Wacky Races."

i also really liked Notre Dame football (American football).

And, at age 13, Korg 70,000 BC, because I was really into Neanderthals then.

Don't remember watching many cowboy shows as a kid except for Bonanza but any cowboy film with Clint Eastwood was always a winner

Bonanza was really good. One of the best shows of the era.

I remember Rawhide and Bonanza.

Surely everyone remembers Tarzan?

I remember a couple of Tarzans, actually.

The one I'm most familiar with, probably, is the one with Johnny Weismuller in the 1930s. There was also one with Ron Ely in the 1950s. There were many others as well.

Bonanza ran for a very long time---from 1959 to about 1974.

I'm sure there can't be many people our age who hasn't tried to imitate Tarzan's call / yodel.

I feel claustrophobic at the thought of death.

I don't want any "feet" in my grave---until I am unwillingly bought to the coffin.

I will not "go gently into that good night."

[joke]I was chased by a coffin the other day and I couldn't outrun it. I checked in my pockets and I had a bottle of Benelyn so I threw it behind me and it stopped the coffin.[/joke]
