I cannot cook my own food.

I get agitated and panic if a timed element is introduced.

I can heat thing up to 8 minute but anything beyond that and I panic.

Watch the clock and freak the f**k out with the emphasis on the f**k.

You have a connoisseurish way with words. Usually, in my experience, people who are elegant in language are also elegant in the kitchen.

Yes, I cook my own food, even when I'm travelling, all vegan and mostly organic. I have grown some of it, but this year I'm just doing some home preservation from the harvest. I make my own granola, bread (machine, whole grain) hummus, sprouts, and "Italian seasoning." I can cook dozens of meals, but usually do variations on two favourites, using just one pot. On special occasions, I can make dessert foods. I learned by experimenting, reading a bit on diet, and watching roommates. I generally avoid prepared or processed food, and won't own a microwave.
I am astounded by the number of stories I read about digestive disasters these days. I conclude that we are being fed by corporations that pay no attention to health, and medicated by companies that pay no attention to nutrition. The only pills I take are a few vitamins, and I can still ride a bicycle 20 km in an hour, at least twice a day.

P.S. - I grew up on a beef farm, so I knew what was in the cheap packages I was buying when I moved away. I decided to satisfy my curiosity about vegetarians on the spur of the moment, so as to have a New Year's resolution for 1970. I liked it - meat was the health food of the Stone Age, before trade and preservation. Now, the human population is so much greater that we have to choose between continuing our traditional diet or allowing a traditional wilderness on our planet somewhere. So, I present the following for historic information on education only:
To take the test to get a Boy Scouts' cooking badge, you have to prepare a meal of bacon and eggs.
To pass the test to get a Boy Scouts' cooking badge, you have to eat it.

Don't only cook for myself but for others too.
Even now when I'm visiting family I seem to end up cooking for everyone.
If there's a BBQ or something happening I tend to take over the grill.
Love cooking because I love food.

I still live with my parents, and my mom usually does the cooking. I think I could probably make almost anything if given a detailed recipe, though, I'm very precise in following directions.

Is the home preservation you do stuff like putting vegetables in jars of pickling juice? I've never preserved food but have an itch to do it.

one of the most common questions i get asked by people, family mostly is if i cook. i tell them yeah, i do have to eat and then they ask what i cook.

i should cook more often, but i never have the energy or patience to find a recipe and go the store to pick the items i need to make it. if i'm out running errands then i'll grab something like subway or pizza at the mall. if i have a craving for something like pasta or mac and cheese then i'll go to the store and get what i need to make it. i should sit down one day and actually make a meal plan, but like i said i don't have the patience.

i do know how to cook. its not that hard. if you need help just google/youtube it and you should be fine. i took cooking in high school and this was before youtube so if i had a question, i asked the teacher.

I mostly do variations of Stirfry. Just meat and veggies or mushrooms in a pan with sauce.

Breakfast is basically the same thing with eggs so my 'Stirfry' is a Breakfast Scramble. For breakfast I use a Garlic/Black Pepper grinder and when ready to eat I have Franks Red Hot Sauce. I love the taste of Cayenne.

I'm not cooking very often lately because I have a long work shift and cooking plus the kitchen cleanup is time consuming.

I don't like pickles, but I have done canning, drying, freezing, and root cellar.

yeah.......the cleanup.....that's why I'm a connoisseur of supermarket fried chicken.

I'm about as elegant in language as I am in the kitchen. I have flashes of flourishes.....but they are rare.

I do enjoy cooking, but I'm too lazy to actually do it half the time, hence I opt for ready-made meals and fast food. When I do cook, though, it's usually fairly simple stuff - pasta with beef stew, steaks etc.
