There's nothing shallow about focusing on the way you look. It is one of the ways that people express themselves to others. That is not shallow, in and of itself.

If you were doing it to be "better than other people," I'd call that shallow. But, I don't hear that in what you say.

Broadway musical of the 40's, 50's and 60's. An obsession of at least 40 years now.

Drawing
Sorting Beads (by color)
Making Hemp Bracelets
World of Warcraft (even though I haven't been playing it lately)
Court TV
Playing with diff colored embroidery floss
making knots
writing
making tattoo designs (or at least trying, lol)

Mine cycle a lot, but something involving sorting things by size, shape, or color is always involved.

Thank you for hearing me. I go through stages where I'm the same way with curtains, sofas, etc. -- anything with fabric. I can't afford to be changing the decor of my house all the time, so I keep that obsession on the back burner.

I also have somewhat of an obsession with hair. As a kid, I became the family hairstylist when my mother didn't want to pay for haircuts anymore. I had always been fascinated by haircuts and styling. When my brothers used to go to the barbershop, I wouldn't take my eyes off what the barber was doing, so I learned a lot of their techniques. I started cutting relatives' hair too. Even now, my unmarried brother always has me cut his hair. The married one did too, for quite a while, because he couldn't find anyone to cut it the way he liked. His wife grew jealous (women can be very possessive of their men) and nitpicked the haircut. Now, whenever I see someone who could really use a new style, I itch to fix it for them.

Vintage and handmade.....anything...really.....Toys and clothes...

Quilts

The Ukulele

singing

constructing animals out of socks (though lately I have been in temporaryburnout)..it happens

I am perpetually immursed in music and have been performing (though not always very well) since I was about 11...so i guess music would count.

Making signs and flyers for different things....(have been doing that for years...sometimes to the point of compulsion)..even wound up with one of my flyers on a Levi's t-shirt as a result....(only because a "real" graphic designer stole my artwork though

oh yeah...and screenprinting...
