I don't usually find my obsessions to be embarrassing, but they can lead to awkward situations because I forget that people aren't as interested in the topic as I am. If somebody talks about organic chemistry or molecules, I sometimes get too excited about it and talk about it more than people feel comfortable with. I don't find this embarrassing, it just reminds me that other people just don't understand what it's all about if you understand what I mean.

For some reason I don't feel embarrassment as much anymore. Though in the past I was often easily embarrassed, it never had to do with special interests. I was obsessed with bugs and geography at a young age and no one ever noticed it. Early on in school I was always thinking about it and studying it, but in class I wasn't allowed to so I mostly just zoned out. Never got embarrassed because I was never allowed to study or talk about it anyways.
