What is the yule festival on your video game?

It's on lord of the rings online. You run around a christmas type village doing little tasks to get tokens to trade for stuff for your character. This is my little hobbit Ezzyshea there.

Pretty cool. Do you have to pay for that game?

I'm in a country where Xmas isn't part of the culture and so is observed very superficially. I'll have a low-key day eight son's (8 & 10) for whom the day is a big deal. We'll exchange gifts and watch the original Grinch cartoon and play Catan. All good.

Bravo you got a good laugh out of me.

It wasn't meant as a joke, but an actual depiction of my typical Christmas routine.

Well damn, that sucks. If you show up here online, drunk or sober, and you post, and I see you, I'll stop by and say hi. I'll be stopping by a few times on the day, I'm sure - promised ASS-P a Christmas greeting.

I don't mind having a quiet Christmas.
I don't like or dislike parties anyway.

Dang! There was more to finishing that second present than I thought, so now I'm having to hurry, and I have a nasty cut on one finger. Still better than listening to Christmas music and wishing I had a hug.

It took me years to realize that Christmas alone was WAY better than Christmas with NTs.

On my favorite alone Christmas, I got up before dawn and took my canoe out into the swamps. A beautiful day.

Now I have a husband who is blessedly unsocial also. We will putter, hang out in the hammock, take the dogs for a walk...

Kindred spirits. I will be out in the sea on my fishing kayak catching snapper. We should both post photos on Boxing Day.

Nope it's free to play. Just download and good to go. It's very easy to play and it's really cool traveling around Middle-earth. I spend hours there sometimes.

Your Hobbit is adorable! I tried LOTRO years ago, had a Bard that I was hilariously bad at.

On topic - I'll be having a quiet Christmas with my folks, for which I am grateful.

I got that big toy car done, but I think the mother has gone to visit relatives, so the kid won't get it for Santa magic. Maybe the noise of making it spoiled my chances for arranging a delivery time when I didn't hear a knock.
I also got another well-intended note from an old friend that made me sad. She is stuck being "nice" all the time, but she is afraid of men in general and pissed at her aspie ex.

After my diagnosis but before I found WP all I found were articles and sites warning people about getting into relationships with Aspies :( I got depressed, I'm feeling a lot better now though :)
Was your friend venting about her Aspie ex? if so then that probably made her feel better even if it made you feel bad, but it's worth remembering that you aren't him.

I also think one of the reasons there are so many rants about Aspie boyfriends about is that women often go into relationships thinking the man will change (all men) and they don't, but non-autistic men pick up on what's expected and fake it. Whenever female friends rant about ex's behaviour I always ask how it was different from when they got together, I've never gotten an answer.

Merry Christmas :D
