My mother is 5 foot 1.

It's like being about 5 foot 6 for a man, I feel.

Yeah, but I come from a somewhat tall family. My twelve-year-old sister just overtook me in height, officially making me the shortest in the family (and I'm one of the lucky ones without scoliosis, too). I was labeled as "failing to thrive" as a kid, but I was lucky enough that my ARFID lessened with age, and I managed a growth spurt before I stopped growing at thirteen or fourteen. If I can blame my ARFID on autism, I think it's safe to say that ASD ended up making me shorter, rather than taller like the OP suggests.

I think that makes sense.

Increased height is certainly not an indicator of autism.

I'm 164.5 centimetres. Both my brother and my father are about 177 cm tall. one nephew is about 175 cm, the other about 177 cm.

At 5"10, I'm the shortest woman in my family.

Don't think it's ASD-related, though.

I am the tallest woman in my family, and also the least NT... but I'm only 5'4". Interestingly, according to 23 and me I have a gene for abnormal tallness. I guess maybe I didn't eat my veggies, because I am by most metrics average (world) to short (USA) height for a woman.

dwarf country, i'd say, funny i never knew
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/ ... re-so-tall
its obviously a bit wrong
but begs the question, why do them choose smaller, as well
oh men don't 'choose', now i see the theoretical side of the elbowing and harassing by little people, they're competing..
but you can't, they-re so tiny you can't take their space

I am 5 foot 2 myself. (Which isn't really short, and I detest it when I am labeled as short! I am only 2 inches shy of the national average, for goodness sakes) My younger NT sister is 5 foot 6. I don't really believe it has anything to do with ASD. I have known short and tall aspie women.
