It is common to daydream while riding in a car, but that is no prediction of driving attention unless you also tend to bounce off things when walking. My reflexes are trained so that I can quickly respond to surprises, but they are far sharper with something to help stay engaged. I may be driving fast, pretending to be on ice, or that I have to dodge all the rough bits to save my tires. In traffic, creative speed control can smooth out the traffic around me.

Even though most of peers probably drive. I don't drive and don't wanna drive. Sure I can physically handle the wheel and know some basics I guess of driving. But I have fears of being overwhelmed if another car comes up right in front of me and expecting it. Or person randomly walked out in the middle of the street and I accidentally hit him or her because of me not paying attention to my surroundings and/or being overwhelmed of what to do. So no I can't drive due the possibility of putting me and other peoples lifes in danger.

Well said. I feel the same way.

This! It has recently been suggested to me by more than one person that maybe if I learn to drive an automatic it would be easier, but changing gears is the easy part. For me the difficulty is keeping track of everything that is going on, particularly as I have real difficulties judging speed and distance. If I struggle to know when to cross a road when walking, how am I supposed to make all the quick decisions to drive safely around other cars? And if I did manage to drive somewhere, I would be so exhausted by the time I got where I was going I would just want to curl up in the dark.

I think I shouldn't drive. I have slow reactions, poor distance estimation. Sometimes I am confused from other people and cars when I walk. I'm afraid to ride a bike too. I have driving licence but 3rd try was successful. I learned marks at bigger crossroads from maps. But I was carefully driver, I went slowly, maybe too slowly.

Learning to drive was a nightmare for me. I was terrified of it and hated it, but my parents made me practise. I didn't get my license until I was 21, but these days I'm fairly comfortable navigating my way around my moderately sized city, but I still refuse to drive on freeways, or in large cities like my state capital.
