Yes I do and I try very hard to not do this in public! I also move my lips a lot.

Yes. Instructions/commands, criticisms, random bits of dialogue from media, or entire (multivoiced) dialogues, usually with snarky, rude banter between the various characters I'm voicing.

I didn't realize this as being habit or being related to Autism.

I also don't do it constantly or all the time.

Usually when I'm about to do something or reacting to something I'm reading, watching or listening too.

Oh, yes, lots. Usually when I get mentally bored or trying to focus on what I'm doing, I tend to instinctively blurt out aloud recites from the books I've read, games I've played, and/or movies/TV shows I've watched.

NTs usually take this to mean you are crazy or otherwise mentally deficient or weird. Unless of course you are talking to an invisible man who lives in the sky.

This is a habit very common to Aspies. I don't know so much about classic Auties, who are by nature much less verbal, but its very common among Aspies.

I did it alot as a kid which caused me to get in trouble at skewl a lot. I kind of forced myself to learn to break the habit when I'm around others. I still do it occasionally when I'm around others thou but I do it alot more when I'm by myself.

Other things that got me in trouble--my frowns and eye rolls.

Yes. I often repeat things in whispers and talk to myself. I sometimes go over how I will act in hypothetical social situations and then don't realize I'm whispering it.

All. The. Time. Except when there are others in the room, or when I'm reading, usually what I talk about is related to what I'm doing. It does serve a useful purpose, it reduces the chance I'll make an embarassing mistake. They say that women talk more than men, but if the average woman knew how many words I use in a day, I'm sure I'd take the wind right out of her sails.

But I know a lot of other people who talk to 'emselves too. Some say it's a sign of insanity, others of great wisdom. Until the debate's settled on this (if ever) I don't plan to stop anytime too soon.

I do this talking at home and outside when I am about. Sometimes when reacting to things I've seen and also phrases I say over and over like "Hey Jude" and sometimes just sounds. I recently started traveling on the train during rush hour mornings when it is crowded and have a hard time not talking to myself or chanting a bit. I would like to not do this kind of thing. It seems like it is a kind of push away from outside interference or a way to stay organized/incontrol in my head.
