I was diagnosed with AS when I was 13.

I think I'm HFA. My parents say I was a late speaker. For many years in early school I took speech classes. Besides that I have Asperger syndrome symptoms.

I am a lot like you

I was diagnosed with Aspergers with moderate severity. So I guess that puts me as somewhat high functioning but no doubt autistic.

I like the way the aspie quiz is a multi-dimensional spectrum. In some aspects I am high functioning and in others I am moderate.

I think I would classify on the low end of high functioning if that makes any sense.

Between high functioning and mid functioning, leaning to mid functioning.

I'm only labeled as high functioning due to my initial diagnosis of aspergers, having enough passing skills, low maintenance support levels, and even lack of significant comorbidity.

In reality, I just have a really good compensating skills, work arounds, and figuring my-inconsistent-self out. Still catching up on my age.

If I am on the spectrum, I'd obviously be pretty high functioning. I've always assumed that I'd be level 1 if I were to be diagnosed, since I made it all the way to my early twenties without really realizing I had some of the signs of autism (well, I did kind of start to feel like I was a bit different around my preteens, but I didn't think that much of it at that point and definitely didn't know anything about Asperger's/high functioning autism). And nobody ever thought there was anything wrong with me as a kid (other than just thinking I was really shy). But I've actually had two different people on here tell me that I sound almost exactly like them and have had really similar experiences. Both of them got a diagnosis late in life, but were actually diagnosed as level 2. So I don't know...it might depend on how well I do when I actually move out of my parents' house and try to make it on my own.

I was not diagnosed until 30 years old but I am medium functioning.

Exactly that. I'm not a fan of the high functioning vs low functioning labels, although I understand what they mean.

I'd say I'm moderately and can also be highly impaired when it comes to social situations (having a friend or a family member around me to guide me is almost always required), mildly impaired when it comes to language (I can't seem to speak smoothly, but at the same time I can still be "normal"). It varies a lot, it depends on which abilities you're talking about.
I can take care of myself and I can be independent but sometimes, help is needed, or preferable.

Same.
I only recently found out some people from church thought me shy or introverted. But I'm not. I'm an extrovert (or ambivert) and not shy.

^ Me.

I approve.
For this, I pass as neurotypical socially but am 100% neurodiverse for closer relationships.

It took me until mid-20s, and still I didn't have a notion of the concept until some of my close online friends asked me about it.
I've actually had irl people who know me pretty well (but who I haven't opened up to like I do with my online friends) say I don't have it. (But I mentioned it to a woman who used to be a social worker and she said she could see that for me.)
