Yes indeed, I shall go into the Office tomorrow morning to hear the usual endless rounds of 'Did you have a good weekend...?', which is always followed by about half an hour of tittle-tattle, before they actually do anything. I really don't think that many NT's can work without the chatting. It's bizarre. They just cannot shut-up. it's as if their brains need the endless small talk to allow them to (eventually) work.

Excellent discussion thread. NTs needing "special services" - I love it!

How many are aware of W. Edwards Deming?

Deming (LINK) was an American engineer, statistician, professor, author, lecturer, management consultant, and was believed to have Aspergers.

Deming helped the Japanese rebuild After WWII by teaching quality practices e.g., many Japanese cars were sold on that balance of quality, and affordability.

It's just unfortunate that the Dilbert (Dilbert LINK) personas, and practices (featured in the syndicated newspaper cartoons) overtook Deming's examples over the decades!

I would make some simple accommodations such as allowing them chit chat yackety yack breaks. A bit like smoke brakes, and designate a suitable area for them so they did not disturb everyone else.....

I love this. Here we call a smoke break a "smoko" so this would no doubt be called a "yacko".

Sensitizing training to be able to see each person an individual instead of grouping by and making assumptions based on race, gender, ses, ability, anything out of the control of the individual.

:-) Raymond Chandler described it well, although he was talking about what a heavy drinker goes through while adjusting to sobriety (in one of his Philip Marlowe novels, The Long Goodbye). - " It's a different world. You have to get used to a paler set of colors, a quieter lot of sounds."

I.e., the world would be designed to be gentler to those with sensory overload, and would be less stimulating to those without...

Being well-rounded would be discouraged...NTs would be strongly encouraged to just have a few special interests and focus like a laser on them.
