a lot of people at work saying i can't be autistic because i'm a bus driver. they say i'm weird , difficult and stupid but they say i'm not autistic otherwise i wouldn't be driving a bus.

what is their logic? do they think all autistics are mentally incapable of talking, driving , working,?

i am a good bus driver and i am good at dealing with the public. but i am autistic , i was nonverbal until i was about 7 or 8 year old and i do have other symptoms and was diagnosed with moderate autism in childhood but my autism doesnt stop me performing well at my job.

one thing is i am not shy at all but i still hate socialising. do other people with autism get accused of not being autistic jus because you are a good worker?

They just lack knowledge on the matter.

I've been told that I couldn't be autistic a lot of times. Unfortunately a lot of people think autistics are incapable of working/going to college/etc. I've actually written a blog post about people doubting my diagnosis. Feel free to read it if you want: http://www.aspiezone.com/3-reasons-peop ... diagnosis/.

I often get told by people that I am not Autistic and then the minute I do something Autistic they get upset at me for doing something Autistic. They feel that I should not do Autistic things because they have decided that I am not Autistic or not Autistic enough for their standards.
