To be honest, I doubt NT's have every been able to figure out the variable which leads to a shutdown as well, what to do to help alleviate or lower the escalation of the difficulties in general.

Excellent article. Any further details, how does the dichotomy between the individual and the society at large relate to the Autism Spectrum?

I have that sense that the 'Boston Globe' story (in link) has some sort of context regarding the Autism Spectrum e.g., shutdowns. Yet I'm not sure how the context can be put to words.

Such a dichotomy (I've long said "it is what it is" - as opposed to becoming involved in counterproductive (endless) debates) has long been a part of American history (and the present).

In short, I favor that "middle ground" e.g., consensus (yes, some would consider that "Un-American").
