Am I the only "mute" aspie here?
I go mute quite a lot, I can't handle social situations in which case I both choose to go mute, and I just naturally go mute, which in turn its a struggle (tough struggle) to speak in social situations, and when I do its usually small, and simple answers or statements.
I actually only actively speak to some of my family members that live with me, and I sometimes go mute with them as well (But they don't notice from my understanding), than there are other family members of mine (even if I like them) that I'm mute around all the time for unknown reasons.

I experience this a lot. I’m a very talkative person when I get into a conversation and I enjoy people’s company (as long as they aren’t doing something that’s overloading my senses) but I often don’t speak with my family and closer ‘friends.’ It’s not an anxiety thing for me, it’s just I don’t know what to say. My family is with me most of the time, so I can’t tell them about a trip they went on with me, and I don’t do anything particularly interesting in school, so that’s out. I don’t have anything to tell them, so I stay quiet unless spoken to first.
It frustrates me a lot, because my sister talks for hours about school and her friends, but I don’t have friends I hang out with and nothing happens at school.
