Things i hated and never liked as a kid
Well, if I'm free to go beyond pillow and food fights, there were a lot of activities I disliked as a kid. Mostly down to my restrictive special interests I suppose. But it wasn't a completely hard boundary. I think I was always able to take an interest in the discussion of most subjects and I gave a lot of activities a chance.
IN general, I did not like my peers.
I liked infants. Helpless things. And people who came over that were my father's peers (so generation of men who became leaders of industry in the 50s-70s).
I didn't like things that dirtied my hands. I ate EVERYTHING with utensils well into my 20s.
I never felt any empathy with bratty characters like Woody Woodpecker or Bugs Bunny or Tweetie Pie or Jerry Mouse in 80% of their episodes.
Camp kind of experiences I could enjoy, slumber party type....Nnnope!
I preferred my Lincoln logs and Tinkertoys and Lego to Barbie sort of stuff. I did have a girl vibe for my Breyer horse collection.
I hated pink (my room was always blue or yellow color palettes). I hate pastels except for periwinkle (but cannot wear that color...eva!). I could not staaaaand polyester and double-knit type materials or materials that felt slimy instead of simply smooth. I hated lace if against my skin. I hated my food to mix with few exceptions. I could eat liver if tender but chalky stuff like north beans and lima beans.. nope. Fresh onions would make me hurl as would undercooked eggs, jello, and pudding. Didn't like full size peas but could eat Le Seur Peas.
My tolerances for some things went up. I still hate eating most things with my hands. Still hate things you have to 'gnaw' like ribs and later trend hot wings. Still hate double-knit and many clothes textures. I can now eat food that accidentally mixed unless the taste is too hideous.

Although not as obvious, this also qualifies: I always hated it when the teacher would tell us to work in teams or groups, and leave it up to the kids to naturally pair up. I was always the odd one out. Even if there were an even number of kids in the classroom, the other odd one out would often pretend not to notice me and try to join up with another pair, making a trio. The other kids all seemed to like this "team-up" crap, but it was hell for me.
This still happens to me when that kind of activity comes up. I hate it.

As far as things that I've hated and never liked as a kid, although this might be considered highly controversial, something that sticks out the most that I could not stand was the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Having been a fan of the original book, I found that this movie changed up far too much from its source material (often in ways that made no sense), had forgettable songs that were never in the book (I honestly remember parodies of these songs better than the songs themselves), and left entire parts of the book out that could've just as easily been kept in the movie (you're doing a movie based off of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, not f*****g War And Peace). To paraphrase the Nostalgia Critic, by changing the source material the way they did, it shows a great amount of disrespect for what was already perfect about the book to begin with. That being said, I find the 2005 Tim Burton directed Charlie And The Chocolate Factory more memorable and faithful to the book while adding the right amount of changes to make it its own thing. Not that Charlie is a flawless movie, don't get me wrong. But even the Oompa Loompa songs in Charlie were taken from the original book instead of that sh***y, annoying, rinse and repeat song from Willy Wonka (I don't remember the lyrics, but I do know that it's basically the same song with a few words changed around). I'm sorry, but I would much rather listen to Wonka's Welcome Song from Charlie on REPEAT than ever have to listen to Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompa song. At least Charlie was able to take the Oompa Loompa songs and give them a unique, memorable style where you could always distinguish one from another. I could go on and on for hours on the subject, but I don't want to bore you anymore with my ranting.
I never saw a single food or pillow fight in my life, so i don't know if I'd like them, but I always found play fighting very fun, so I very likely would have enjoyed it.
Things most kids liked or were preoccupied with that I wasn't:
- Competition
I liked some ball games but I liked them for the fun of them and had no clue who had scored more points, I just wanted to have fun, most kids were pretty preoccupied with keeping scores, and some got really upset if their team lost
- Most "girl's games"
I found skipping ropes and jump ropes to be very boring. Playing house was as fun as poking my eye.
I mostly played with plushies and cars, and they all had set personalities. Although I played some with dolls too, it didn't tend to be typical girl playing. They interacted with each other, bickered, fought, played games, went on adventures and things like that, and there was very often conflicts and bickering, and fights. Dolls can be very good in fights! I thought their plastic arms were just made to smack other toys!
The fighting part was something that bothered a female playmate so much she complained to my grandfather that I only wanted to play fighting games with the toys. He too noticed significant differences between the way I played and the way my mother played when she was a kid.
I was given dolls' clothes to put on the dolls, but unless it was a piece of clothing I truly liked, I'd just ignore it, and if I liked it, I'd put it on them and never wish to change it, because I liked it that way. I never have and never will understand why some girls find it fun to change the clothes of their dolls.
I also didn't like pink, skirts or dresses, and have only worn pants since upper childhood.
- Pizza and spaghetti
Yeah, it's shocking!! I was 12 before I learned to appreciate the delicacy that is pizza! It has been a fave food since, but before that, I never liked it (my inner ninja turtle is crying right now! ) I also never liked spaghetti, another typical kid favorite, until I was in my 20's.
- school field trips
Most kids seemed to like them, because they were a break from school. I loved breaks from school, but not field trips; not because they were a break in routine as some people here hate, but because I was always terrified of getting lost or be forgotten somewhere somehow. So it was mostly just stress for me, and got way worse in junior high when we were expected to find our way home from trips and I had no clue about the direction. Gad how I hated those trips!!
- group work, cooperative tasks
Did and do!
