Why do you choose to be NT?

That's a pretty jerk thing for someone to say. Wanting to know why you are the way you are is not a waste of time.

I haven't been asked why I wanted to be Autistic per se. I had told a former teacher that I had an appointment for an Aspergers evaluation and she made a face made a comment putting it down and when I explained I wanted to know why things have been the way they have for me and she said something like, "I just think you'll get yourself caught up in labels again." Which made no sense because I have never defined myself to her or anyone in school with a label. I had no label to even give myself!

Anyway...ignore jerky people.

No one has exactly asked me that.

But over the internet, a friend didn't believe my diagnosis, and stated as if it was a fact that I was paranoid reading up on diagnosis. Or that it was just a quiz result I took too seriously.

I was diagnosed at a very young age and it has affected my life.

I guess some people are ignorant about ASD, and with some people, it's more invisible than others.

Well...you could reply with the question "why do YOU wanna be mentally ret*d?" (and add that "you're doing a great job in achieving that end")
