I am an extremely visual thinker, who also uses patterns when thinking. I do not think verbally at all. It may be why I struggled with being able to write stories in English class while growing up. Once I got into college, I learned the scientific style of writing which is sowing together facts, much like fitting them into a pattern. That made so much more sense to me than how I was taught to write in grade school.

I know that the way that I mentally visualize is very advanced to an extreme. It is easy for me to visualize higher dimentionalities (4-D on up) and how they can interact with each other. I can also go below the subatomic level to “see” what makes up particles. During that process in my mind, I can slow and speed up things at will, including light itself. Being able to do this is very helpful in what I do for my theoretical research work.

My mind tends to work with patterns for most things, although for communication i rely on written word most.
This is going to sound really weird but when i write on my phone, i use a "swipe" keyboard, where i drag my finger across the keyboard to each letter of the word i want to write. i find it much easier and have been using it for years. Now when im trying to process what im thinking with words, to accurately form each word, my mind does the "pattern" that would make each word using a swipe keyboard....Weird, but somehow comforting. it feels like the words form right

A mix of verbal and visual.
