Weird sounds I love? The kookaburra .... grew up with birdsong all around in a semi-tropical climate. I never realised how silent other locations can be until moving overseas. When I returned to Aus, it really struck me... kookaburras would regularly perch on my clothesline or fence in Queensland and their laughter always was a sound to behold! Quintessential Australian bird ...

Oh I forgot to mention my younger is obsessed with the sound of running water and washing machines running. He listens to and watches washing machines for hours on youtube sometimes.

Also he leaves the tap on and if you turn it off he cries even if hevis in the other room and tries to turn it on again...

It's a big waste of water....

I used to do that as a child till 20 when my husband at the time told me it adds to the bill then I forced myself to lessen it.

But i can still fall back into that obession with that sound if I let myself.

Ooh I googled Ekka. That's so nice! We have an agricultural fair here every year that we go to... my son's special needs class contributed a painting (like a big art attack ) every year ...

the association is part of the reason they are so cool.. Fairs, amusement parks, carnivals and circuses.

I dislike the gap in between the sound..

My elder is like me in that..

He wants the same sounds repeated immediately, without pause, carrying on interminably.

^^^Your son's class painting would be a wonderfuly ting to see and a wonderful contribution to such a show! I'm big on chidlren's art :)! Sounds lovely. I miss The Ekka so much! Grew up going every year, then took my children every year... the showbags are a big thing, and a massive building holds them, and the crowds are always massive! Such a great atmosphere though, and I loved going at night time with friends too. It's a huge deal for Queenslanders, particular those in Brissie(Brisbane).

Yes, the sound is a bit on the annoying side to be honest! Remember those noise tipper thingees that have cow and sheep sounds? I sew growlers into heirloom teddy bears, similarly. The sound of a bear is somehow sweeter and funnier though!

You and water, bloo ... personally, I'm convinced I am a mermaid with my love of water lol! :P

Yeah it looks spectacular from what I saw and read via Google!

Enid Blyton had a particular tale of the growling soundbox in a teddy bear.
He didn't have one it was a duck sound instead...another toy duck had the bear soundbox in it... They resolved it by the end of course. I think it was a subplot in The Faraway Tree. I might be wrong...

You're so nice in tone btw

I also miss the old THX intro that would give my brain tingles when I would hear it in the theatre.

My wife's voice from the pillow next to mine, cats purring, songbirds singing, waves crashing on the seashore, tap-dancing or Irish hardshoe dancing, a baby's laughter, and most favorite of all -- silence.

Song of the hermit thrush:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0mATRdzZSc

In a sylvan summer woods, it sounds like a fairy with a flute.

It's less than two minutes. Listen to the entire series of songs; it is always a bit different.

- Storms
- Trees blowing in the wind
- Streams
- Bees buzzing
- Pigeons cooing

Basically, anything that reminds me that something other that artificial, human-made things exist.

Conversely, my absolute least favourite sound of all time is the combustion engine.

The sound of my thumb running across the pages of a book.
The sound of a pencil on paper.
High heel shoes on tile floor.
All of these I love :D
