There’s an easy explanation for all asd youtube videos being done by very hf people that don’t appear disabled.

If they had severe autism they Probably wouldn’t be able to do the videos in the first place. They possibly wouldn’t be able to use a computer, especially if they had severe ID.

ASD is an iceberg most only see the best side in public the most severely effected are locked away in institutions, or cared for by parents, so it gives a distorted.
There are a few people here who are more severely disabled. You're right about this though. I have a youtube channel but it's interest related so not really what your looking for. There was this one guy who had a youtube channel but he deleted it. It was nice He was on the younger side. But as far as ASD youtube channel. Idk i used to like amethyst schaber her youtube videos were informative.

I am very introverted, have moderate autism, and two YouTube channels. I don't do "vlog style" videos though. I have too hard of a time putting my thoughts into words; even ahead of time.

I don't relate to Aspie World's personality but I can relate to Aspergers from the Inside. He's more confident than I am but he doesn't seem any less autistic or introverted. I haven't watched any others yet.

"Asperger's from the Inside" helped me identify my then fiancé as an Aspie before we married...(Like him, my husband passes for 'normal' :D )...I also like Amythest very much...I am very grateful to them, among other youtubers for helping me better understand my beloved (Aspie) husband...

There is one youtuber I've been watching, AutisticTyla. She would be one person I would recommend people watching.

These recently-diagnosed people who try to position themselves as Autism Experts on YouTube, in books, etc. have become annoying. It's become a cliché. Maybe they should talk about their own experiences instead of autism in general.

Actually in some cases it applies to early-diagnosed people as well. Temple Grandin for example. Didn't she get diagnosed with classic autism? I was reading an article the other day that quoted her talking about job strengths of people with AS. She doesn't even have AS! And she isn't any kind of employment or disability expert as far as I know.

Frankly I can't even watch the bubbly, facially expressive, fast-talking youtubers, whether they are autistic or not, because they are overstimulating and distract from their own videos, so those would be the ones I can't relate to. Also with my auditory processing issues, I often can't stand foreign accents, so I tend to avoid the aussies and UK youtubers.

Temple Grandin was diagnosed originally with classic autism.

This was changed to Asperger’s a few years ago.

I don't mind them because I just listen to their antics to relax while working. Gets my mind off all the drawings I have to churn out. For real insight, I listen to doctors explaining the condition.

I feel the same way. I haven't viewed such a channel in a long time. And I would never make one myself.

What you see on youtube is an end product. It takes a lot to make a youtube video. Also sitting alone in the privacy of your own bedroom talking to into camera is very different from talking to an actual audience. In the comfort of their own homes, it is much easier to talk to a machine that you own. They might be very different in person.

Funny, I posted my first youtube Autism video here on WP and none of you guys even bothered watching it. I wonder what you would have said about me.

I don't feel that way about every video I've seen. The ones I have felt that way about stick out in my mind more I suppose. Maybe they're just masking really well. But then again the idea of masking is to appear as NT as possible.

I guess your vid wasnt memorable one way nor the other (you didnt awe your fellow autistics, and you didnt intimidate your fellow autistics with Hollywood grade poise, and stage presence, -the way that the OP claims to get intimidated by autistics on UTube, but you didnt disgrace us with flagrant ineptitude on your vid either. :D So...

you will just hafta post your vid again for us to refresh our memories.

Indeed. If any well known user like skibum posted a selfie video, I'd at least click it to see what that person looked and sounded like.

Sometimes posts inadvertently go unnoticed and then get buried under other threads. Especially back in the old days when WP was a lot more active.
