I can't choose between executive dysfunction or communication issues. Executive dysfunction is definitely made worse by my ADHD, so I'd say communication issues are the autism-specific thing that messes with me the most. I'm horrible at expressing anything verbally and 90% of the time it seems like I can't tell people what I'm actually thinking, which causes issues in a lot of other areas.

I have a major problem with ADD.
It is a pain in the butt. :evil:

I don't like the social issues that I have. There are times that I can be very straightforward and that scares a lot of people. I was even called scary once.

WHat I dislike the most is the emotional / nervous system dysregulation and meltdowns... but that's not in the diagnostic criteria. (I think it should be).

Anyhow, I ticked social issues - but it was a close run with communication issues since they're probably connected - it's often miscommunication that causes social problems. But it's the social exclusion that I really dislike.

Connecting online is enough for me.
I am a Hikikomori. 8)

Quote:
In Japan, hikikomori (Japanese: ひきこもり or 引きこもり, lit. "pulling inward, being confined", i.e., "acute social withdrawal") are reclusive adolescents or adults who withdraw from society and seek extreme degrees of isolation and confinement.[1] Hikikomori refers to both the phenomenon in general and the recluses themselves. Hikikomori have been described as loners or "modern-day hermits".[2] Estimates suggest that half a million Japanese youths have become social recluses,[3] as well as more than half a million middle-aged individuals.[4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikikomori

I didn't imagined mine -- I've lived in it... For a week.

How did you manage that?
And why only a week?

I was looking at getting something for my ADD, but I would have to see a psychiatrist to get the meds.
It was too much trouble, and now we have the pandemic. :shrug:

In poll, I chose Can't decide on one specific issue - as four issues stood-out as important:

* Social issues.
* Communication issues.
* Executive dysfunction.
* AND lesser concerns for 'Sensory issues.'

Where is "don't like change?"

Idk if I should pick sensory issues or restricted/repetitive behavior because I feel like they are related. I like routine because it's comforting, I know what to expect. If something changes or I'm going somewhere/doing something new my brain goes crazy. Like if someone invites me to the beach, I'm thinking of what time we are going, how I'm getting there, what to bring, what do I do if this or that happens, etc. I don't want to be hot, to sweat, or get wet, get dirty or get sand on me, stung by a jelly fish, I want contingency plans to mitigate discomfort, the unexpected.

Yay! I thought I was the only one to use this term. I used to be a hikikomori, I've spent the last few years of my life trying not to be.

That's because burnout is not autism-specific. I wanted people to vote for the core issue, whatever caused the burnout.

That's restricted behavior. Each poll option is a category of traits rather than a single trait.

... 'Manage'? No. It just happened.

It's just literally one day, I woke up that way and lasted a week. I'm not joking. :|
As far as I've observed, the difference was literally waking up very refreshed. And sleep did felt like a real loss sense of time and body -- than stressful and troublesome.

Whatever this is, I've been stuck with it since age 14 or so. I don't have ADD.

Please don't suggest me meds and sleep treatments. It's out of the question in my circumstances.

Easy for me.
I like my autistic personality but I hate having bad eyes cos of my light sensitivity. So sensory. Even if other stuff didn't exist on a sensory level like it does.

I had to think about this one for a while but I think my answer would have to be the feeling that I'll never fit in or belong anywhere in my life when it comes to people and groups, the feeling that I'm always annoying people and bothering them with my presence in general....like I'm a burden, and the feeling that my overall outcome in life will be living alone forever and never having any sort of steady relationship (romantic or not) ever in my life.

I guess in a nutshell my answer is insecurity, if that's an Autism trait. If not, I'd go with social complications.
