My husband has a collection of odd socks that could very nearly rival your collection...

I never knew there were so many nearly-but-not-quite-identical styles of men's white athletic socks. 8O

Where are those missing mates???

Post subject: reasons why i have beem
quiet all this time

I am of two minds with your first impression!

1)...I want to say shame on you~!

Let me explain why?

I have seen other overpolite sites, and this one
has poignancy, bite, and subtly. It can make
you laugh, cry, and angry just like a family.

If you want PG13 level dialogue, go somewhere
else....If you want PG17 level dialogue filled
with some genuine frankness, honesty,
and areas other as/hfa sites wouldn't even
go! such as Sexual issues, Social abuses issues,
one personal abuses by others in frank and
genuine tone. So it is really your choice, and
I don't think we as a site should beg for your
convincing otherwise!

2)...I will examine your questions!

Have you banned users for no reason
• Only a moderator, or administrator would know that.

Have you spread malicious rumors about other sites
and their owners (i can't remember which sites you have
spread rumours about)
• Yes, all web sites have~! So we can be human and
interject our opinions! Alex, the moderators, or
administrators are not responsible for conduct
of it's members. They can warn, and enact punishments
but NOT RESPONSIBLE

Have you copied content off other autism sites
• For that I have no answer!

Do you create fake members
• I did a 1500 member post study!
Low and behold #1-845 were #1 post only
to 1500's. Of which 1/2 that would be in
the 100's+ thus active, MIA, ect......

As far a wrong planet is concerned, we are
real people with real feelings, with real
issues, and can laugh and play, scream at
each other, and try to be there for each
other to the best of our abilities!

OoooooH! Speaking of ASS awards I have
yours "SEAN" in my lower column box!
DO READ IT!
:? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

I have an idea but people will probably take it the wrong way.

Nah, I think it has more to do with the asperger's communication problems than with just leaving it alone. I notice that there is a 2 to 1 ratio of vistors to "regulars" and out of the "regulars" another 2 to 1 are actual posters. I suspect most of the "lurkers" are not comfortable enough to post and are afraid of what could happen. This is my theory on why we have so few posters.

Hmmmmm? Who were these people EJECTED
from this site? I know of no one who was, but
I only joined in Mar, 20th 2005.

Hmmmmm?

Pikachu, I'm pretty sure that rumors #1 and 4 are unfounded, but I'd be curious what Alex has to say about #2 and I know that there was once a little bit of truth behind #3, but that has been resolved. Personally, I don't see any of the above as a reason not to use the site.

It seems mutual misunderstandings between aspies are more common than one might wish. A conflict did arise between Amy and Gareth of some other autism sites and Alex here. Both had some pretty fierce stuff to say about each other. The result is that they have their own separate forums and IRC channels now with some overlap in membership. I cannot verify the accusations traded between Alex Planck and Amy and Gareth of AspiesForFreedom because I was not in the channels to witness what happened.

No but the content from the wiki has been copied (with permission) from Wikipedia. You can find out more information here.

EDIT: When I answered this, I hadn't read the stuff about other people mentioning the Jypsy site. I think it is appropriate to address this issue. No, we did not copy her content, or even host it. We merely placed an IFRAME link to the internet archive's archive of the page. This was entirely within the bounds of the law. The internet is built upon linking to other content. And we made it clear that this was not our content. However, we removed the link after we were requested to do so by the creator of the content.

Do you create fake members

We created one "fake" user for testing purposes. The username "testuser" makes it obvious that it is a test user. To get an accurate member count, you can subtract 1 from the number of registered users. These are the only users that WrongPlanet.net created. However, individual users (LGB, who was banned and then came back under a different name, for example) have created more than one identity and I don't really know how many people did this but I can guess that there aren't more than 20 (at the most) duplicate users (although other people could be creating duplicate users). Many of the users who register, however, do not post because they merely like to read the forums. Also, some people register and then leave. There is no way to accurately count active members. Although our numbers are definitely less inflated than the other Asperger's sites I know of because we require users to validate via email (sites like AFF don't do this and thus will have highly (hundreds of) inflated numbers compared to WrongPlanet.net).

I hope this answers your questions. Also, welcome to WrongPlanet.net :D

Hmmmmm? Can you give some reasonable examples
of this members abuse? or "are afraid
of what could happen" ?

Just say it. That's what you're known for. Besides, you will probably have trouble topping one of my recent comments anyway  (see Ghosthunter's sig).

No-one notices if you're 'quiet' unless you're a regular poster. Even then, it's not that noticeable.

Good to see that WP is involved in the usual dramas and rivalries that go on in websites...it only makes it 'normal'.

They call it the autsitic spectrum because there are varying people from normal, to mild-aspergers, to full blown wackaloo.
And as such wrong planet is not without its own drama queens.

I would like to hear hale bopp's idea.

Can we all agree not to critisize hale bopp if he tells us his idea?

Thanks

I would like it very much if people critisized it. But I've forgotten it.

I'm surprised Hale_bopp did not comment on this. For future reference, Hale_bopp is a girl :) .
