When was in grade school , often times , I would get asked , where I was from because I spoke differently than the school children . And a bit hyper vigilant even back then .

^^^ im adhd and cant deal with velcro, I keep forgetting stuff in my bag with velcro closures when im at the library and get all guillty about the noize

I blame the drug war, any unusual facial expressions, eye contact issues, ect, can only be due to drug abuse, and drug abusers can only be bad.

Another side of the coin, - Im homeless, and my peers think im nosy when im not, and therefore a narc, which im not.

Well I will rat out drug war bs, like the disasterous lie that crack is cheap, and that most info on street drugs online i is sensationalist bs to sell rehab beds [most of the higher google hits on drugs are written by treatment centers] , so it makes the alienation rather hard to take. Well it started a few years ago and my skin is a lot thicker now. That which did not kill me yet..

I get all sorts of looks.

I just tend to ignore them in my old age.

When I was a kid, I'd get the look all the time, though I have a feeling it had more to do with my obvious physical disability. These days I seem to only get the look when I attempt to socialize, lol
