I always feel like i could doze off sooo easily in the day time if I had time but don't have time. As soon as night comes Im ready to go...wide open. Maybe it is because the world is less busy at night and the mind is less driven to want to escape from all the clamor and intrusion of noises and movement and people.

I have always wondered why I wake up very early in the mornings it can be annoying because there is usually nothing to do I woke up a 5.00am this morning 4.00am yesterday morning most days I get up around 6.30am but it is only because it is really hot that I have been waking up earlier. What I do if I wake up really early I usually check out WP and to see if there were any replies to any of my threads overnight and look to see if there are any interesting subjects.

I've had the same problem forever. I used to get up and run 10-25 miles or so since nothing else was happening -- starting at 4:00 AM -- sometimes as early as 2:00 AM. Not much traffic then but it can be AWFULLY dark in the country.

An amusing aside: the problem is known as 'terminal insomnia'. Don't worry. That just means that the insomnia occurs at the end of the sleeping period.

I know what you mean, dudes. I have an awful time trying to sleep if I can't follow a basic routine I figured out many years ago. I will put myself down for a nap in the daytime if I need it, but I rarely make it through the night without waking up at least 3 times. If I cannot sleep no matter what, I will go make some warm milk with honey and cinnimon.
This always works, but I may have to take a quick soak in a warm bath with lavender oil to finish the job enough to finally lay down. I understand how frustrating it can be. Even right now, I can't sleep! My partner just got a night-shift assignment, so he'll be going in at 12pm to 10 am tonight. We were on a daytime schedule, 630 am to 330 pm, so it's a rather big shift for us to pull off in one day. I went to sleep at about 4 am this morning, and got back up at 830 am. I managed to add about 2 hours of snooze time on to that, but oddly only one at a time. Good luck with your insomnia, and try out the lavender bath stuff. It really does work.

I also have sleeping problems. Both in falling asleep and staying asleep. I always wake up feeling extremely tired. No idea what causes it though..

I used to be good at sleeping, but latly, ive had insomnia, and it occures in cycles. I work 3rd shift so when Im alseep, the sun is coming up and its gradually getting hotter outside. What screwes me up is that sometimes ill work overtime and instead of sleeping at 5am, ill come home and sleep around 9-10am, and then my cycle is ruined, also, and I realize its becomeing a problem, my back has been hurtin alot latly (i tweaked it) and sometimes I take pain medication, during social situations i sometimes abuse it as a way to feel good and relaxed, over the past few mounths i have gotton a bit of a addiction to these painkillers, to the point where when I run out, i cant sleep, and will screw with me for days, i just realized that right their is half the problem, and now that i figured it out i have to slowly reduce the amount im taking (as my back will get better if i dont tweak it again)
