I can multi-task if I put my mind to it, but it only causes me to stim far more aggressively than I otherwise would if I set myself to a single task. So I avoid multitasking where ever possible. I also stim aggressively if I am rudely interrupted while doing a task or forced to switch from one task to another.

Multi-tasking is not something I am good at.
Here are some common things that people do, that I can't:

*Listen to someone talk while watching TV
*Watch tv and dry the dishes at the same time
*Do something else while I wait for my noodles to heat up in the microwave, (I like to open the microwave door just after it stops beeping).
*Keep track of more than one person talking to me at a time
*Follow more than one verbal instruction at once
*Ride a push-bike (Just TOO much multi-tasking)

If I do try and multi-task, there is a 100% chance I will fail.

I used to think that multi-tasking skills required intelligence and that being challenged in that area meant others who could multi-task were smarter than me...boy was I wrong about that assumption!

I have to multitask or I'm bored. But if I get distracted, sometimes things fall apart.

But ya, I'm usually doing several things at once. I like it that way.

I multitask because I won't be interested in one of the things I'm doing, but then I'll end up focusing on whatever else I'll start doing and it generally does fall apart. :D Sometimes I end up nuking leftovers three times because I'll go to do something else and let it get cold.

Yeah, I would have expected that, given that multitasking requires you to switch your attention quickly between tasks, something difficult for most Aspies/auties to do.

Same with me. I can multi-task best when I have a list so that my mind won't tie itself into knots! lol I can multi-task a little but then my mind gets all jumbled up and I keep getting distracted, then washing the dishes takes a few hours. I also can't pay attention well sometimes (day dreaming about things), so that also adds to the problems of multi-tasking.
