I can hold a conversation as well as do the other two things

I miss what's going on in the movie then or on TV. If I try listening to it and trying to see what's going on in the movie as I'm reading, I can't concetrate what I'm reading then but yes I can read and watch TV at the same time.

Being the staunch ADDer that I am, I often need to have the tv on while I perform other tasks in order to drown out the rapid barrage of impulses and thoughts that constantly set to distract me from the tasks at hand. Last night I did a big screenprinting run while watching PBS documentaries...It made it possible for me to focus better on both activities.
I often read where there is lots of activity around me...but when there is complete silence, my hyperactive thoughts take over and I can't concentrate of reading.
Yes I frequently read while the tv is on. I don't necc. follow the tv...but the tv is there if I get distracted from my book. If there weren't just those two things to focus on...then it would be 40 million

No. Tooo much distraction. The noise has a way of killing a good book.

I hate TVs unless I am actually (if ever) watching them. I prefer TVs when they're off, or being taken apart! I prefer natural noises, such as birds and the wind blowing.

No. I need virtual silence to read and take it in.
However, I can do cross stitch or read a magazine or do puzzles while watching tv.
I find it easier tho, if it is something I have already watched before.
I cannot read with music on either.

Yes ! You've found one of my skills. :)
Going a little off topic, when I'm reading and listening to TV it's amazing how many times I read words or phrases while they are simultaneously spoken on TV.It's not usually when the news is on TV either,it's often the same phrases in a completely unrelated context. This has occured with
such obscure phrases as 'asset stripping' and 'sink or swim'.On one occasion I was reading a headline in the paper of 'What's Your Poison ?' when simultaneously and by coincidence the word 'arsenic' was said on TV. 8O
Going back to the topic,I must admit that I can't always multi-task so easily in other ways.I
normally have to make detailed lists, but for some reason my brain can handle reading and
following TV at the same time.

I use music the same way, it somehow keeps the ADD at bay so I can write or do something that requires me to stay on task for an extended period. (Hey, I just found a Watusi tribesman in the scratches on my desk, he has a spear and everything! I can't wait til my wife gets home she'll love it.)

Ah, no. Can't do it. I can barely listen to music while studying or reading.

No. When I'm reading I tune the rest of the world out totally. I don't hear other people when they talk to me, either, until they start raising their voices in irritation. My mother used to get really galled that I was so absorbed in my inner world when she tried to get my attention. I am selectively deaf.
Also, when I am on the computer, especially when I am posting or doing Photoshop, if anyone tries to talk to me, good luck! It is like trying to talk to the wall.
So I can do one thing at a time really well, and two things at a time terribly bad.

I can only handle one source of language input at a time, so no. I can listen to instrumental music while reading, though, and there was a period of time when I was younger when I listened to things like Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach quite extensively. I should put them on again sometime.

No, but my ADHD husband will turn on the TV, radio, do his homework, all while watching You tube videos. (This pisses me off to no end (-; )

No, I can't focus on more than one thing at a time. I do like to read during the commercials though. Still I'm pretty easily distracted. That's probably part of the reason I don't comprehend so good when I'm reading. I really need silence to read, but I rarely get that. On the internet I often have more than one website up and switch back and forth between websites, but that isn't really multitasking either.

With ME, it depends. This is one of the few ways I seem more AS NOW than I did when I was a kid. For the most part, I seemed more AS as a kid.

I think I can do it. Hard for me to sit in complete silence and read actually. I usually have the TV constantly anyways. I don't know if I could pay attention to both though. Can do it with music though.
