How to explain to people who don't understand about anti-ds

I actually feel it's dangerous to tell people they can beat it with willpower, because sometimes you can't. Those with medical depression will think they just aren't strong enough and kill themselves off instead.

Clinical depression is like any other physical ailment. It should really be treated as one.

In my experience, the people who say that mental illness is a state of mind and that meds aren't necessary, are the people who are most in need of the meds.

It's called denial. I wouldn't even worry about trying to explain it to them.
