They're way too general for me.

I detail geek over certain things I like.

I used to read them a lot. When I took 6 months off education/training I read them for about 3 hours a day, not including wikipedia or researching on google.

Now I just have no time as I am busy with my course on the weekdays and studying at night. But I can't deny that i've looked in them a few times.

I did as a child, but not so much as an adult as I then got engrossed in fantasy and science fiction books and learning about specific things in detail.

Yes, I read encyclopedias all the time! I also have this funny "encyclopedia game" I sometimes play: I start out with an article about, let's say, earthworms, and set an article about Australia as my goal, and try to get there by clicking only the hyperlinks in every article. E.g. in the article on earthworms I click on "animals", in that article I click on "mammals", in the article on "mammals" I click on "kangaroos", and in the article on kangaroos I click on "Australia". It's a funny pastime and I get to learn something in the process as well. :)

Yes, I do. I also read other reference books, such as the World Almanac and Book of Facts, the Book of Lists and the Guinness Book of World Records. I am a fact junkie.

Moreso when I was younger.
Some of my favorte books as a kid were the People's Almanac and the Book of Lists and my grandmother's very ancient set of encyclopedias.

I read wikipedia. There are no encyclopedias in the house I live in. Besides wiki has a lot more but you need to know what to beleive and what not to believe. Some of them are just opinions you read in the articles.

I've always liked to browse encyclopaedias and the internet gives it a new
dimension as it links articles together. It was on Wikipedia that I followed a
link from Einstein and learned about Asperger's.You never know what life-changing
information you'll find just by browsing. :)

Once I start reading Wikipedia, I'll end up spending several hours there. I usually start out verifying something I'm about to post, but then I spot an interesting looking link, and then another, and then...etc.

Eg, I started out reading an article on Darwin, Australia, and eventually ended up in articles about Wickes-class destroyers, the Battle of Midway, and the Dutch Golden Age.

I use Wikipedia as a resource, but not for fun...
