I have to sleep on the left side of the bed while holding my special pillow (it takes me twice as long to fall asleep without it). Before I get into bed, I have to brush my teeth, make sure my hands are clean, and say a prayer or else I'll feel a little anxious.

I'd survive...I may be picky at home because I "can" be... but I'm a survivor...I would just be a very cranky, sleepless survivor for awhile.

That is Sweetie...or so my son has dubbed her. Tiny sick, half-starved stray he found that he brought home after a weekend at dad's for mom to fatten up. She's gaining weight and getting into lots of trouble like a normal kitten now.

in my last backpacking trip across Australia and through Indonesia I must have only 1 thing. I got my life down to a 20 lb daypack for six months.
Had a beautiful view as I slept outside of Sydney Harbor, in a bush.
Must have a fan.
Or some breeze,
or white noise.
I left the cd player and camera at home and brought a battery operated fan and a sketch book.
The only thing I ever worry about being caught without is my sedatives, theyre addictive.

i cant sleep on a mattress, because i dont like the feel of it, i use to have a duvet under me, but then i got this feather thing that goes under my sheet.
i have to have 4 pillows, (i have a double bed) two at each side then two standin up against the headboard.
i have to sleep in the middle of the bed between both pillows laid on my side :D
and i have to have my teddy in my bed lmao  yes iam 14 but i love teddies lol
i also suck my thumb
i have to make sure there is NOOO cracks in the blinds cant have light shining through.
i dont like no noise either, it keeps me awake.
when i get up when i make my bed its got to be perfect with no creases!
no socks, no collars on pj tops!
and i always take a drink to bed (dont know why because i only have a mouthful then leave it :?) but if i never took a drink i woudn't be able to sleep.
also if some one else has slept in my bed, i cant sleep in it i have to have all my sheets and covers etc washed.
i also cant sleep if there is bits in my bed i have to sit and pick every last one off.

Nope I can fall asleep pretty easily... with just one caveat... I have to be in my own room... and my brain has to sufficiently drained or under stimulated.

Sleeping in hotels, or other people's houses is a darn near impossibility. And for some reason I find it easier to fall asleep on a couch....

Also, if my mind is working at all... it takes a while to fall asleep.

I stayed up about 4-6 hours after I got into a bed... stimulated only by the ticking of a clock.

In fact, I just gave up trying to fall asleep and tapped out a rhythm with the clock... something I've been know to do just sitting in bed. I swear, my best grooves appear in my head right before I fall asleep.

The specifics don't matter so much when I am falling asleep... it just has to be familiar.

I have always been a terrible sleeper ... even as a toddler I used to sleep for about 20 minutes at a time - then wide awake for 4 hours in between - what a nightmare for my mum ! !

Even now I don't get to sleep before 2 am - and wide awake at 5 am ! ! - only to drop off again for another couple of hours .

Same here. I cannot stand anything on my feet. I only wear shoes because it's socially expected!
I can't sleep with socks on or with my feet covered by a sheet or blanket.

I also must have my head covered at all times, and I use a heavy blanket all year long. And the room must be dark. If there's noise to begin with, I can fall asleep to it, but if it suddenly gets quiet it drives me insane. And vice versa.

I must begin on my back with only my head covered and one arm under my pillow and one holding the blanket over my head. As I'm ready to fall asleep I slip blanket over the middle of my body, too, as I turn onto my left side.

Geez, what a freak I am! lol

YES!! ! I require:

At least two but preferably three pillows, two blankets (one cotton, one comforter), a fan year-round, a cool room and complete darkness.

Also, I have to sleep in items made specifically for sleeping in, and no socks no matter how cold it is.

I have so many problems sleeping, it has to be cold enough or my nose clogs, no lights on not even clock lights, they have to face the other way or the littlest light wakes me, certian type of sheet or i get really itchy and uncomfortable, pillows on both sides of me, and on top of me for extra weight, and I have to have my one pillow on my face to bite on and it has to be the same pillow or if any of those are not accessible or right I can't sleep, I'm up all night its crazy haha...

Nope, I can sleep virtually anywhere. Chair in my office, couch, laying on the floor in front of the TV to name just a few. My biggest problem is that I just don't fall asleep easily, sometimes for days, though I seem to be a constant tired state. Sleeping pills don't seem to do a thing for me.

I am a picky sleeper too :!:
Here are my reasons...

1: I have to sleep in my weighted sleeping bag...it's a sensory thing. If I don't then I wont sleep at all on that night.
2: I have to sleep in a single bed. I like the feeling of being enclosed in a small space. (I guess thats another reason for the sleeping bag).
3: My curtains have to be closed all the way, I can't sleep when it is light.
4: The door has to be open, It is dangerous to sleep with your door closed incase there is a fire and the roof colapses and jams the door shut from the outside.
5: My Dovet on-top of my sleeping bag has to be tucked in evenly at both ends of the bed or else I wont feel comfortable at night.
6: I have to have a packet of tissues next to my bed as I despise getting up at night as I walk into things especially at that time. The tissues are for wiping my nose by the way.
