I've heard of T-shirts with "I am a person, not a puzzle," an obvious reference to those autism awareness puzzle ribbons and the like. I like that idea, I think it sums up what you're probably trying to say, but unfortunately is probably too oblique for many people to get.

I wouldn't buy from those people at cafepress. Looks like they're focussed on the autism/mercury/childhood vaccines link, that's not only been comprehensively destroyed in medical science, but also treats autism and AS as a disease rather than the syndrome/difference that most of us believe it is. Heck, I'd be tempted by "I have autism, and I think you should vaccinate your kids."

CafePress.com is a sort of clearinghouse, where anyone who wants to create enough of whatever objects imprinted with a label and pay the fee can hawk their wares. Unfortunately, the mercury ones seem to be selling pretty well, despite clear objective evidence that thimerosal does nothing untoward to the human body (or brain). 'Course, you can also buy plenty of things having to do with astrology, despite the fact that not one of the claims of astrology can be verified, and plenty of them can be debunked. Most people's buying habits, it would seem, only occasionally intersect anything to do with objective reality, assuming such a thing exists... :)

Shamus Young, creator of the online strip DM of the Rings, examining how "Lord of the Rings" might have gone if it were a typical D&D campaign, created some items with some of the more popular quotes from his strip. He had been considering using CafePress, but found another site that charged him less... :)

well, i just shut a guy up today..

someone that had one of those awareness bumper stickers cut me off, and at a red light, yelled at me saying i was driving too slow.. he told me "What, are you ret*d?!"

Funny I thought, the speed limit was 55, and I was doing 58..

Then I asked, "Is that your car?" and he said "yes!", I then said "Well, the speed limit is 55, not 70! By the way, your a hypocrite for having that bumper sticker, then calling someone with autism, ret*d, of which that autism person, being me, actually followed the law, while you broke it."

He then looked down and walked to his car mumbling something. What he said, I have no idea.

Wow, how bad the world is. Next time someone gets out of their car though, I'm going to just drive away, I should have, that guy could have had a gun, and I didn't even think of that possibility..

Things on CafePress can be put up by anyone. If you don't like the ones that are up there, make your own. There are some that look to be made by aspies, or parents of.

I liked the t-shirt with all the famous autistic/aspies.

I also liked the Einstein "passionate sense of social justice"T-shirt , because it sounds very me (and very aspie)

I'm still planning on getting my wife the shirt that reads, "I LOVE SOMEONE WITH ASPERGER'S SYNDROME - and it makes them very uncomfortable."

I also want to get my daughter the one reading, "I'm Autistic - What's Your Excuse?"

I love the NT one!

Is there a t-shirt that says, 'Asperger's ... the next phase of human evolution.'

If not, I should make one up and wear it.

I love that one :P

I also like the one with the duckling going the wrong way because it saw a butterfly, and the one that says "Aspies of the world unite! (Yeah, right, like we're gonna hold hands.)"

I like the ASS-PURR-GRR shirt with a picture of a donkey, a cat and a dog.
