I don't know if they can spot us, but I really love them.

For example, once while visting a zoo-park I stood next to the wolfes section and I tried to communicate with them, and I actually succeed because I got to get their attention and they came next to the bars, when they were really far away when I first came. They came, but not growling or 'angry' with the intention to eat a 'human' , to the contrary they came with the heads down and very quiet ..

An then other time, when I was visiting a raindeer farm, I just went to see one of them from closer, I was surprised cause as the reindeer saw me he started to roll the eyes scared and trying to go away from me, when just before he was surrounded by a big crowd of people and didn't do anything to them. Also the reindeer.owner who was tere in that moment needed to take the reindeer to calm down him a little bit, is that because he knows I'm fascinating with wolves that he smell a 'wolf' in me, lol ...

I was at a party and a cat approached me. The owner of the cat said, "She's not very friendly." I didn't get to touch her, but the cat kept coming back to me.

did not give her any eye contact?
cats that owners call not friendly or they say will run away from any human contact will often go to the person who is avoiding eye contact and not moving all about to get their attention.
thats also why they often go to the people who hate cats rather than the cat fanatics,as they avoid eye contact and try to ignore their existance.

A stray cat we recently adopted has become very attached to me, to the point where he follows me at the heel and "hunts" me when I go running. He's incredibly sweet and playful, but sometimes I get annoyed when he interrupts my running.

Is this something other aspies find?, that animals Love them?

I used to go horse riding, Jake the horse loved me, it would kick its stable door as soon as it heard me, I would hide round the corner and say, "Jake, Jake", it would lick my neck and do things for me that its female owner had to shout and whip horse to do.

When I first met my mothers dog, she commented how it usually hates men but it was very friendly with me.

My last girlfriend (1993) was most impressed when she saw wild birds taking food from my hand.

Maybe Aspies are how man is suppossed to be and its the NTs who are wrong, its just that there are more of them, would certainly explain why the worlds such a mess and is being ruined.
Or maybe God wants Aspies to experience some Love in life?

I've also experienced this.
I don't know if the "unusual" friendliness of animals is related with Asperger's though. It is definitely related to people's behavior towards animals. An animal can sense if you're a bad person who might hurt it, or if you're afraid of it. Animals can "catch" a lot of signals, such as the way you look at them, or how you talk to them. I'm not sure if it's real, however, I know many real examples to confirm this.
I, for one, love animals, and would hate to see them suffer, no matter the species. I feel more comfortable around them than people, as a matter of fact. I respect them as if they were humans. They're not as dumb as you may think...
People are wicked; they often have hidden intentions. Animals are innocent. There can be no such thing as an evil animal, IMO. I've heard of animals who saved lives, but I've never heard of animals who planned a murder, for example.

Although some animals kill for the sake of killing.
Maybe not though, maybe I just got that from the Terry Pratchett book; "Small Gods".
No, animals are great.
Although they do not have the facilities for doing things like humans do.
Maybe monkeys would, but they are illegal as pets.

For as long as I can remember animals have been very friendly to me. It seems like cats and dogs are attracted to me. My cat Toby used to always know when I was not feeling well or when I was in a bad mood. I felt more pain when he passed than I did for some close relatives that passed. Just a few days ago I was visiting with a friend and his cat jumped up in my lap and started to rub up against me. My friend told me that was very unusual as the cat is very unfriendly to other people and very shy. I have always felt a strong connection to animals. It feels like I understand them more that I can understand other humans.

I have been over to numerous peoples' homes where cats were present and many owners said the same thing such as, "That cat doesn't normally like strangers, I wouldn't bother him". But the second they see me they instantly fall in love and I do as well. Oftentimes I spend more time tending to the cat then my friends themselves.

I do get along better with animals. Snakes, horses, cats, and dogs. Lizards and birds don't like me much.

Animals attack me.

No, seriously, everything attacks me if it feels it has a chance (I must give off some funky vibe).

Animals hate that.

It is the uncompromising stare of the human being that animals find threatening.

This was my theory, as well. Staring at an animal is a threatening gesture. My mother and I are good with critters because we are non-threatening and we keep our voices low and soft. We don't stare them in the face. I know with cats and dogs, especially pups, a cooing voice is very reassuring to them, as well. I think they sense danger in humans who are aggressive too.

We have a lot of success with feral critters. I found my dog in the woods as a pup, and I cuddled her in a towel and cooed at her, and I have been her favorite ever since. Cats that started out feral and untouchable have become our pets, and you can't tell they were ever wild. I really believe they know that we love them and don't want to hurt them. I really dont know if this is due to any Aspie-ness. If Aspies are generally animal lovers and calm and nonthreatening, then it could be that animals like Aspies more. The fact that we dislike eye contact is probably a plus for the animal world, though.

YES! Animals that were supposedly "dangerous" and "unfriendly" didn't mind me petting them or picking them up. Animals would turn down the opertunity to be fed in order to follow me. People say I have a "gift" with them but I think it's simply because I don't stare them down like most people.

Animals love everybody equally. If people would be like this the world would be a perfect place.

Sorry...bad day.

I'm good with animals. I think it's more than just not staring. That might be vanity on my part. My mother's dog chose me of anyone to be near. When there's noise and people she always comes and sits with me. She also goes nuts when I arrive, jumping up and down and whining. It's cute. I always joke with her that I wish I could have the same effect on human females :-)

Don't we all wish we had that effect on the opposite sex? :P
My cats used to follow me through the forest, I love animals.
