Wow thanks for all the advice!
I'm going to save up for the Philips ones, I think.

Try to be careful with aspi-obsessing over the best audio quality from earbuds (especially if you start reading head-fi!). I did this and gave my self tinnitus after purchasing some Shure e5c's.

You can not put a price on the hearing you're born with, and once you screw it up thats it!

I have had tinnitus for years now.

I figure I'll need hearing aids somewhere around my 60's.

But for now, I still put on the headphones and crank up the volume so I can drown out the ambient noise in what-ever setting I'm in... if I need to concentrate that is.

I read up on those Sures, and thought I might get a pair someday.
Probably won't becuase of my hearing, and what I've got now available to me seems to satisfy my needs.

We have a nurse at work here who got some custom molded earplugs that are wired for sound.
Nice electronics too!
He uses them when he's racing home on his crotch-rocket!

I got myself some Sennheiser CX300's (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electro ... oduct.html) and the audio quality is as good as the Shures (if not better!) and above all else they are comfortable, can be taken out and put in quickly. This is nothing like the experience of ramming a Shure up your ear canal for long periods of time.

I think there is something sinister about the deep-in-ear canal headphones for long term hearing, for me these Sennheisers are perfect blend between audio quality and ease of use/comfortability. oh and they're far cheaper!

I dont notice the tinitus now that i've had it for a few years, but it was rather dehabilitating for the first 6-9months (especially when you're an aspi and you super focus on it! :D)
