I'm a free runner. Anybody does that now? I see sunsets and sunrises. It's not too bad really.

I always get enough sleep. I stay awake for 24-32 hours (usually just 24 hours - my basic cycle) and then sleep for the normal 50% time or 12-16 hours. It's not usual that I could sleep for 16 hours. I need beer for that, lulz.

16 hrs awake: 8 hrs sleep (24 hr cycle)
24 hrs awake: 12 hrs sleep the most I can do (36 hr cycle) my minimum and usual

I stay up late a lot. Also, I can't sleep with lights on, & I have to have music playing softly to get to sleep.

This guy on youtube with Aspergers claimed that many people with AS have this disorder. I know I do.

Hi. Could you point to the YouTube link? 8)

I use a window fan. Even during the winter.

Yeah, me too - I find it very hard to get to sleep before 2am, and quite often stay up till 4am or later. For some reason I just feel more relaxed at night, guess it is in part because there is less noise, other people are asleep and I know i'm far less likely to get disturbed. Though I then sleep in till late morning or early afternoon, then I'll wake up feeling depressed about my abnormal sleep pattern, only to do exactly the same thing the following night.. argh. :(

Don't feel bad. You sleep a normal amount of time, correct sir?

Fifty percent of your awakeness is NORMAL. If you stay away 16 hours you will sleep for 8 hours. I stay awake for 24 hours usually due to the non-24 hour effect. Then I sleep 50% which is 12 hours.... pretty much the maximum I could ever sleep. I get too achy if I sleep so long.

I'm old so it's not so long these days. When I was young I just stayed awake for just a few hours.

I definitly need to work on my sleeping. I'm similar to others in here, I'll stay up on the computer reading up on something or just procastinating, I stay up later and later each day and cycle through the full 24 hours, and will often just stay awake until late at night so I pass out. I usually have a lot of anxiety before exams/social situations and so don't sleep the night before. Strangly I never really identified the nights that messed me up so much until I started thinking about whether or not I have Aspergers, and realised I have a lot more anxiety then I understood.

edit: Been called a vampire a few times as well.
edit2: And I always used a fan no matter the time of year to get to sleep, though now my computer makes enough noise as it is.

My sleeping partern is a little awkward, I generally end up going to sleep at around 2 am and get up for 8 am the next day but sometimes if i have an exhausting day i can get tired and go to bed at 12pm and have even more trouble getting up for the next morning than i would if i had less sleep, i usually feel mostly awake during the evenings as well between 9-12pm for example so i can hardly go to bed early if i tried. Body clock, what body clock!! ! Sometimes i have seen myself have around 3 hours sleep in a night and even had those dreaded all nighters.

don't fight it. if you have support such as SSI payments then relax! I spent YEARS!! !! worrying about not sleeping "like others." Screw them. Find your comfort area! That's what SSI is for.

I do not sleep well at all. I tend to stay up late on the computer and watching TV in teh background, because I know if I try to go to sleep, I will just lay there with my mind going on and on about life, the universe, and everything. I wish the answer was actually 42. I also do not go to bed with my other. In fact, I sleep downstairs on a couch. Too much complaining about waking her up when I did come to bed. Plus, I have a bad back that gets exacerbated when I lay flat on a bed. The problem with the couch though, is that my son comes down and wakes me up between 0600 and 0630. I do not fall asleep until usually 0200 or later. So I have a hard time every day just getting through it. I lay around a lot, especially on weekends, so I get bitched out for that too, which perpetuates some of the mind racing when I do try to go to bed. A vicious circle it can be. Some day, I'd like to just sleep for a week to get caught up with the last 20+ years. Anyway, I have been prescribed Lunesta, which works great. However, I only take it when I absolutely have to get to sleep.

DSPS makes sense for me, my hubby, and our bio daughter. My 2 adopted kids don't seem to have a problem. I LOVE summer because we can stay up until 2-3 and sleep in until 9-10. Hubby workd from home, so that works out well for us. The kids starting school last month has created HUGE problems. Hubby and I are completely sleep deprived, our Bio daughter is too. She can't seem to get to sleep at night. We still stay up until 1-2, but we have to get up at 7:00. Even if I go to bed at 11 or 12, I can't sleep. Neither can hubby. Sometimes when I'm completely exhausted, I take a Unisom, but it rarely puts me to sleep, just relaxes me.

Even if I manage to get 8 hours of sleep, I'm exhausted in the mornings and have the hardest time waking up and staying awake. I often fall asleep watching TV with my 4 y/o in the morning. The tiredness usually goes away around 1:00 PM and then I'm fine and not tired until 1:00 AM.
