Does anyone ever comment on your VOICE?

Very sing-songy and childlike....sometimes i talk a little louder than I ought...sometimes too soft.
I get asked where my accent is from alot.

People usually say that my voice is quite soft and very quiet, I can hear myself fine but other people apparently don´t since I have to repeat myself often.

A girl I once knew who seemed very aspie-like (in retrospect)was super intelligent but every time she said anything I had to ask her to repeat herself because her voice was so soft. Everything she said sounded like muffled mumbling. I felt sorta left out because I seemed to be the only one who could never understand what she was saying..I guess my hearing is kinda bad.

It usually depends who I'm with or how I'm feeling one minute I can be very loud next minute soft and monotone when I get monotoned my voice get crokey.

Distinctively. No style, I just speak naturally and it comes out different from anyone else's voice. I only know this from hearing a recording of my voice.

I've heard lots of different things about my voice. I've heard I sound young and I've also heard I sound my age. I've heard I sound like I'm from California and I heard I sound like I'm from the south Atlantic. People are weird...

People say I talk like I’m from a foreign country and I’ve never been out side the U.S.

I talk loud. People think I have an accent because they comment on it and ask me where I am from.

I speak too quietly where I should be speaking loudly and vice versa. I also tend to mumble way too much and have to repeat myself way too often.

I have a problem keeping my voice down sometimes, particularly when I'm on the phone in the office. However, I have been told I have a nice phone voice.

Most ppl say dat me voice is quite deep n speak like a mature person n not me age.

I would say you have a young voice, but you aren't all that old anyway. And you could easily be from California. Don't take that as an insult though. I'm from california, and most americans these days seem to lack a real accent. People from california lack one as well.

But YEAH, people ARE wierd!

BTW I've been told I have a nice voice also.

I would LOVE to hear the aspie accent everyone speaks about though.

I either mumble and people can't understand me, or I'm too loud. I can't seem to find that happy medium in between.

I have been told by several people that I speak to softly and I sound "emotionless" in my speech. Some people have even said that when I talk I sometimes sound "creepy".

When I did speak, I got told:

"You have such a monotone." (My brother's girlfriend always said that, with a great deal of inflection, other people commented on it too.)

"You talk like... like you have a mouth full of rocks or something." (Said by a kid when I was 12.)

"Are you from England?" (Lots of people.)

"Are you from Sweden?" (Lots of people, but usually while skiing.)

Those last two because I had what sounded like a foreign accent when I was a kid (I'm American and had to learn local accents as if a foreigner). So did my brother.

I don't mind people saying I sound like I'm from California. I'm just glad they're not saying things like Tennessee (No offense to anyone living there!) Even just this week, a guy came out to set up a plan for a sprinkler system my mom's going to get and he kept swearing I was from California. Not only because of my voice, but my choice in words (like saying freeway instead of interstate and stuff like that). And yeah, I'm not familiar with 'the aspie accent' either! I wonder what it's like...
