Wow 50 is really impressive. Czechguardsman would make a good rock climber. I really envy people who can do that many pull-ups. I just started working out again. I went from 3/4 a pull-up to 5 pull-ups in the past 5 months. My chest circumference also grew 1.5" and my arms 1/2" so far. I also have some hard calluses on my hands from it. I've seem to have hit a minor wall at 5 pull-ups now though. Not sure what it is. I've just been too tired lately. How do you improve when you hit a wall? It's frustrating because I want to be able to at least get back to what I could do before (10 in a row). I think I would have huge arms if I could do just 20 pull-ups in a row at 230 lbs.

If I knew of something to do chin-ups/pull-ups on, I'd see how many I could do. What do people normally use for this while at home?

I had the same problem for a while. Had nothing to do them on while I was in college and didn't like going to the gym there. Unfortunately I'm not naturally strong so I lost most of my muscle when I didn't exercise for 5 years. I went from being able to do 10 to not being able to do 1. I installed a bar across the top of the hall in my apartment about 5 months ago. You can find them at hardware stores. The only problem is that I'm tall so I have to bend my knees which causes some swinging. However I usually do wide grip pull-ups with my fingers curled away so I can't swing as much.
