I have difficulty remembering peoples names, but at the same time I am fascinted by origins, meanings and nationality of names. It worries people when they introduce themselves and you tell them what their name means.

I'm quite fascinated by names. I often find myself on babynames.com just looking at all the different names and their origins purely for fun and my own interest. I love names beginning with E, like Ethan, Eric, Ellery, Elisa, Espen, Ebony, etc. I don't really know why I have such a strong preference for "E" names. They all just sound nice. :D

My daughter likes names that start with J. Especially Jessica!! She says she will change her name to that when she is an adult. LOL

I even like looking up the origins of my cats' names! The funny thing is, all of their names fit them.

You know thats funny, because growing up I had an obsession for names, would make families with all types of weird names, even have two whole pages of names, girls and boys, was obsessed to the max, even went online and researched names, any kind of name, any kind of orgin, my friend even bought me a baby book, i was in heaven  !

My daughter has 2 books of names that she goes through. She plays a game on the computer called THE SIMS and wrote almost every name from the book on a little piece of paper, and as they have kids she will pick a name out of the box to give the peraon a name. My NT daughter has even gotten into this SIMS game thing. Can I ask how old you are? My daughter is 17. You look younf by your picture. I am the mom.

I'm fascinated by names, and once when someone told me his name was Damian, it was all I could do not to shake his hand and congratulate him because I felt it was such a fitting name for him! Also, when I was twelve I was friendly with a boy whose name contained letters that look blue, yellow and black to me, synesthetically speaking. Imagine my fascination when he came to school wearing a blue and yellow T-shirt and black shorts!

I always liked extraordinary names and truly regret Magdalena (my own name, unfortunately :x ) belongs to the most common names given to girls from my generation :? I like it when somebody I meet has a rare name.

Yesterday I was on a trip and when there was a list checked before said trip, listening to some names from it gave me a lot of pleasure - for example such names like Iga or Kornelia :P

I like names. Don't care much about who is called what, but I like names. Occasionally obsess about them a bit. Not too much, though.

If I find that I really like a name, I will incorporate it into my stories. Currently, it is Katherine and Roger.

I also like names that have a positive association for me. Samantha, for example, will be forever associated with my favorite cat.

I love baby name books, and saying names that I like.
My favorite letters are A,E,K,L, and R. I like names that start with these letters. I also like common names with unusual spellings. I like to read the meanings of names and their countries of origin.

So yeah, I'm a name geek.

My only thing about names is that it's takes time for me to remember people's names. I can recognize lots of faces, but names will escape me. Sometimes I'll get names mixed up... like at my work there are many girls with "K" names and I will sometimes get them mixed. I called one girl by the wrong name one time

The other thing is that I happen to like unique sounding names.

My first and last name, in total, has 9 letters (first = 3, last = 6). But, I have only 3 consonants in those 9 letter! This makes my name difficult to pronounce, of course. (consonants: first = 1, last = 2). Amazing how many weird spellings I get too......

Dichotomy; I have the same issue that several have mentioned, being bad with names (of people; I'm great with scientific names).

But I also love interesting names, both first and family. I'd pay good money to know what LabPet's name is, now that I've spent several moments running through pattern-matching anagrams for the first name (I just couldn't help it). Ada to Zoe, but I'm leaning towards Mia.

I'm seriously considering changing my real name to Drake Tungsten; but I need to come up with a middle name, and consider what the initials end up spelling.

Good fortune,

- Icarus's true name is known by no living being...
