AS Life/Personality/Interest Survey
1. Do you fit in with your gender role? That's a big NO. I never even could try.
2. Are you diagnosed with AS/unsure/curious/NT? Diagnosed with AS officially a month ago, but suspected "something weird" for years.
3. Are you picky about food/eating? Yes. I eat only what I invent, like salami + peanut butter sandwiches.
4. Are there any body parts/functions that REALLY bother you? When my skin feels nonexistent, that is really bad. But cutting usually restores its ability to feel.
5. If you were an X-Men, what mutant power would you have? I'd be able to survive without food and drink, so I wouldn't have to work for a living.
6. What is your biggest struggle? Keeping my almost violent sense of justice at bay, to avoid going on an amok run. That's what I still struggle with, as I accepted as a fact that I'm unable to be loved (as in loved by a girlfriend). I have also my daily battles with finishing what I began and remembering to do homework.
7. What is a trait you have that you feel is an advantage? That I can think outside the box, and the ability of doing a great job as a translator.
8. What is your favorite holiday? Whenever school's out, duh! I don't even celebrate Christmas; I'm not in the financial situation to get or give presents.
9. Do you have any quirky habits others don't understand? Of course. Wearing only short-sleeve things, even in winter, for example. Or stepping only on the white areas at zebra crossings. Or cutting myself. Or singing children's songs whenever the mood strikes.
10. What setting bothers you the most? Loud crowds, like the classroom when no teacher's in.
11. Do you like a certain channel on TV that others don't appreciate? Not particularly a channel, but documentaries in general. They seem to be really unpopular among regular people. Also, I've been ridiculed for still watching kid's shows.
12. Do you like surprises or surprise visits from friends or romantic partners? Not really. I like to know what will happen, even if I have no chance altering the course of events. When I expect to spend an afternoon in peace and quiet in front of my computer, and someone drops by, I hate it. But I love my friends, just... when I'm not prepared, it's bad.
13. What is your strongest academic subject and weakness? Strength: literature and languages (English and French, currently). Weaknesses: Math and anything that contains it for the least bit. (I've been also dx'd with dyscalculia.)
14. What are some things you notice that no one else does? Irregularities in my PC's humming, cracks in the pavement... I also encountered that most people are so preoccupied with faces that they don't notice, not to mention read, t-shirt slogans and things like this.
15. Do you like animals? What is your favorite animal? I'm curious about them. I like cats and snakes best, their mysterious calmness.
16. What fictional character do you relate to the most? Bromden from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. And of course, Data from Star Trek. And maybe many others, as I like characters better than actual people sometimes.
17. Who is your favorite fictional character? Umm... Picard, maybe? Anyone who keeps integrity of character and promotes tolerance.
18. What is your favorite type of weather? Cold and dry.
19. What objects interest you? Human rights, linguistics, neurodiversity, poetry.
20. What was your first obsession? Collecting glass shards.

So what's the verdict ?
The verdict: I like you.
I also am intolerant of gluten, I have a strong interest in the subjects of humanities and social sciences -- I'm extremely female in my way of thinking (I think). My son, diagnosed AS is very gentle - but at the same time extremely male in his interests and way of thinking.

Sewage and its remnants belong in the sewage system.

Empathy, I guess.

7. What is a trait you have that you feel is an advantage?
The opposite of depression... knowing that I'm going to be alright and that. It's so wierd.
8. What is your favorite holiday?
I don't know. Maybe something huge, like 9/11... dunno if that's a holiday. It's not. But I prefer it to any holiday.

Dark, quiet, cold, enclosed space.
11. Do you like a certain channel on TV that others don't appreciate?

Diagnosed
No
No
Extreme physical strength
Understanding the NTs
I don't care what people think of me, I'm unnaffected by peer pressure. In other words: I don't mind being eccentric.
Christmas
I prefer to have routines.
I don't understand this question...
In Norway we have very few channels compared to you americans, so the awnser is no.
Not usually
Economy and norwegian is my strongest subjects, spanish is my weakest.
Flickering fluorescent lights (this is very annoying). I also notice background noises from fans and old lamps, as well as mistakes in special effects in movies.
I love cats and dogs.
Donald Morton, Edward Scissorhands and Doc Brown
Not sure
Snow
Cars, movies, some video game series
Cars
Not really. I don't perceive myself to be a person having any particular sex - I could be a bodiless brain in the jar as well. I like being dressed pretty, wearing jewellery and smell of good perfume but it's practically everything. I'm not masculine, I'm not interested in things males are interested in so often (sport, cars, computers and so on) but I don't have too much in common with representatives of my own sex, too. I can say I'm androgynous.
For what it's worth, you seem to have the desire to appear feminine, and don't sound androgynous! I bet you're probably cute also!
But as far as even being a bodiless brain, etc..., I can relate. there is something nice about a sex drive, but it would be so nice if the drive was simply to go as far as having one, and not acting on it. That would get rid of SO many crimes, and SO much perversion.
BTW Halloween has been distorted, and is only a shadow of what it was. Be HAPPY you don't have it there. These days, it is more like a tour of homes just to do damage and beg. There are more tricks, and I wouldn't trust the treats.
1. Do you fit in with your gender role?
No.
Undiagnosed, but I'm fairly sure I have it because I have many of its symptoms.
Probably. But I'm only picky about the particular kinds of food I'm eating, not the quality of the food, necessarily. But there are sometimes ways around it. Although there still aren't that many foods I won't eat.
Not really. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I despise having a female body.
Telekinesis.
I'm horribly unorganized, and don't really care to fix it.
I'm normally rational when other people aren't. I have few emotions that cause me to be irrational.
Christmas.
I used to look bad on purpose so that I would be able to filter out the people who wanted to be friends with me for my looks and the people who don't care about how I look.
I'm not sure if being insensitive is a habit, but it is a part of my character.
Crowded places that are hot and humid.
There are probably a lot of Simpsons fans out there, so probably not.
Not really because I usually have plans everyday, and people coming over may mean not being able to do what I wanted to do.
Math is my strongest, and English is probably my weakest.
Patterns, logical things, and I sometimes hear people talking to me when they weren't, and it was another sound.
I like some of them. I'm not sure I have a favorite though.
Probably L from Deathnote.
I have several, although I would probably pick L again.
Sunny, but not too warm.
Computers and video games, I guess.
Legos. And drawing. I'm not sure which came first.

Arbitraris id veneficium quod te ludificat. Arbitror id formam quod intellego.
Ignorationi est non medicina.
1. Do you fit in with your gender role? I guess...
2. Are you diagnosed with AS/unsure/curious/NT? Unsure. I've been told that most professionals wouldn't diagnose me; I'm too old.
3. Are you picky about food/eating? Very. I don't eat most meat. Most anything cooked, for that matter, or anything with a weird texture or changes in texture. But hey, I survive...
4. Are there any body parts/functions that REALLY bother you? If I start concentrating on any one body part too hard, I start to wonder what I should be doing with it other than just letting it sit. Does that count?
5. If you were an X-Men, what mutant power would you have? When I take a quiz on that topic, I usually end up as Wolverine. But I think I'd be a telepath. A noisy, out-of-control telepath.
6. What is your biggest struggle? I want to be left alone, and yet I'm lonely all the time. I just can't seem to find a balance.
7. What is a trait you have that you feel is an advantage? I can read faster than anyone I know, and I seem to have a talent for writing as well. Also, I seem to think more clearly than the NTs I know.
8. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas.
9. Do you have any quirky habits others don't understand? Twirling my hair. Obsessively. Over and over again, until I have to remove my hand to do something else. I used to flap my hands, but I ended up trained out of it. I miss it sometimes.
10. What setting bothers you the most? School. Because somehow, I'm supposed to get along with these people, but mostly it just ends up with them clustering away from me and laughing about situations I'm not a part of.
11. Do you like a certain channel on TV that others don't appreciate? Channel 13. It's an independent, non-cable channel that shows lots of odd movies because no successful TV show will come within a mile of it.
12. Do you like surprises or surprise visits from friends or romantic partners? I'm not sure. I always like seeing my friends, but I'd prefer to plan for it beforehand.
13. What is your strongest academic subject and weakness? English (sometimes; other times I butt heads with the teacher and get graded down for it), Math (it doesn't come easily to me, and the tests terrify me)
14. What are some things you notice that no one else does? Small noises, mostly.
15. Do you like animals? What is your favorite animal? I used to like animals, but now I'm not so crazy about them. I love cats, though. As long as they're reasonably good-natured and know how to use a litter box.
16. What fictional character do you relate to the most? Maybe Robespierre Pravdin in Mother Russia. (It's kind of an obscure book, written by the guy who wrote The Company). The world is going insane around him, and nobody seems to notice except for him and some eccentric friends of his...
17. Who is your favorite fictional character? Difficult. But I suppose for a good character, James Bond (even though he's not the nicest guy), and for a villain... Brice from Everybody Smokes In Hell. (Yes, another obscure book.)
18. What is your favorite type of weather? Rain.
19. What objects interest you? Tassels. Strange little objects, like beads and bells, that everyone else would throw away but I keep in little boxes. Soft things. (And then of course, the stuff I go out and buy. Games and music and stuff.)
20. What was your first obsession? The sinking of the Titanic.

1. Do you fit in with your gender role? No, I'm a feminist...
2. Are you diagnosed with AS/unsure/curious/NT? Asperger's Syndrome.
3. Are you picky about food/eating? Yes, extremely. I never eat vegetables, they taste bad and have the wrong consistency. So do steaks and such.
4. Are there any body parts/functions that REALLY bother you? I'm not bothered by my own body. Just others'.
5. If you were an X-Men, what mutant power would you have? Telepathy or mind reading.
6. What is your biggest struggle? Depression, which is triggered by loneliness. Take your pick.
7. What is a trait you have that you feel is an advantage? I'm very rational and emotional. Just don't know how to show the latter, and I have a hard time relating to others' emotions. I write poems though...
8. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas: Good food, family, snow, and time off.
9. Do you have any quirky habits others don't understand? I have oral and manual fixations, I can't stop talking, I acidentally pick my nose once in a while... I get tics sometimes.
10. What setting bothers you the most? Parties with non-family members, especially with the opposite gender. Too many frustrating factors and no one to talk to.
11. Do you like a certain channel on TV that others don't appreciate? I watch the same two channels constantly and others don't watch it that much. Also watch BBC when I can, which is quite rare here.
12. Do you like surprises or surprise visits from friends or romantic partners? Depends if I'm decent and if my room is in a sorry state or not. I like to think a romantic partner would be more forgiving towards that, though.
13. What is your strongest academic subject and weakness?
Strongest: Philosophy. I think more than most.
Weakest: German or Math. Haven't had German in an age, so it might not count, and I had a really bad Math teacher when I reached the academic level...
14. What are some things you notice that no one else does? I always seem to notice movement. And grammatical errors, spelling errors...
15. Do you like animals? What is your favorite animal? I like animals in theory but I don't trust them in real life. They fascinate me, but I don't want them near me. Cats are extremely cute though.
16. What fictional character do you relate to the most? Dexter (in the TV series Dexter, about a crime fighting serial killer. I don't really like killing, but I hate it when bad people get away with things. I think Dexter is some kind of autist, at least he reminds me of me) I'd say the Buddha, who in my opinion must have been a clinically depressed philosopher. Life is suffering and all that. But he's not fictional.
17. Who is your favorite fictional character? Gimli. He kills orcs and he's emotional, what's not to like? I'd say Ragnar Lodbrok, but he's not fictional either. He's the guy who (with EXTREME success) invaded Northern France and only let Paris stand because they paid him off. The world would be hugely different if he hadn't lived.
18. What is your favorite type of weather? Grey. I hate the sky. Snowy is best, I like it when everything is the same colour.
19. What objects interest you? I tend to like small plastic objects that satisfy my oral and manual fixations... Like my comb. Which I can't find .
20. What was your first obsession? Love or computer games. Computer games came first, but love hit (and hurt) me harder.

18. What is your favorite type of weather? sunny with cool breeze.
19. What objects interest you? books.
20. What was your first obsession? i was told that at daycare i would constantly be playing with the same toys every day.
I was going to say the SAME thing! Want to know a secret? I was almost embarassed to say where I am. I still am to a degree. WHY??? Because I USED to be VERY close in a lot of ways to the better abilities said of aspies. Today I am less so. After being here for so long, I have come to realize that I may be in the upper 25%! I'm certainly FAR from the best in any, but I am also FAR from the worst in most. Math is one of those.
1. Do you fit in with your gender role? I'd have to say no. I find that I'm far different than the majority of guys I've known.
2. Are you diagnosed wiith AS/unsure/curious/NT? I have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.
3. Are you picky about food/eating? Oh yes. I practically subsist on cereal, though I eat a few other foods.
4. Are there any body parts/functions that REALLY bother you? I perceive that sex is probably more tiring than it's worth, making it virtually pointless. (I say probably because I'm a virgin. I wouldn't know.)
5. If you were an X-men, what mutant power would you have? Definitely being able to meld with any piece of technology.
6. What is your biggest struggle? I'm currently trying to grasp why any woman would want to take their relationship with me beyond a strictly platonic level (I've been asked out by two different women this year and have had to politely decline.).
7. What is a trait you have that you feel is an advantage? I base all my decisions strictly on logic, which ensures that they will all make sense.
8. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas. There's a fat man traveling around the world, breaking into people's homes, and giving them stuff. That's kick-ass.
9. Do you have any quirky habits others don't undertand? People don't understand why I don't respond emotionally to things they say or do.

14. What are some things you notice that no one else does? I'll notice if the buses are in a different order than they were yesterday, if people changed something about them, (A haircut, piercing, etc.) I'll hear things no one else perceives, catch faint odors in my nostrils, I have very adept night vision, and I'm very sensitive to spice on foods. (I could tell the difference between spaghetti and spaghetti with a grain of pepper on it.)
15. Do you like animals? What is your favorite animal? Of course. Well, can it be mythical? If not, then it's a two-way tie between foxes (Very swift and agile) and chameleons (Camouflage). If so, then a Phoenix (Reborn from the ashes).
16. What fictional character do you relate to the most? Link from The Legend of Zelda series. He shows up, is told to save the world, and does so using a briliant combination of Power, Courage, Wisdom and his vast array of items/weapons, and also without a word of complaint (or a word of anything, for that matter.) He goes out of his way to help people, even when it's a seemingly pointless errand. These are things that I do myself. Also, he's just a bad-ass.
17. Who's your favorite fictional character? Link. See above for reasons.
18. What is your favorite type of weather? Rain and wind. It always helps me relax and fall asleep at night.
19. What objects interest you? If I were to get specific, this list would almost never end, so I'll be generic and simply say Video Games, and other Technology in general.
20. What was your first obsession? Video Games. Always has, and always will be. It is the Alpha and the Omega of my mind, so to speak. The plots, the characters, the scenery, the loss of touch with reality, the raw emotion those first three things stir within me, all of these are what make video games my passion.
Huh, that was an interesting little survey. Hope you all have fun comparing your answers with others'.
