I know this is straying a bit, but in regards to Kim's post above...

I once shaved my arms and found such a stark contrast between the sensation of the wind on my previously hairy arms to the un-hairy arms. :D

I love storms, and windy weather. When I lived in Maine, I used to hike to the top of the tallest mountain in the park at least once a week. On top of the mountain, the wind was so strong that almost nothing could grow. I liked the feeling of the wind making it hard to move, nearly knockng me over.

I absolutely adore rain and all the elements - except - for the heat. I can't take extreme heat. There was one time when I was living up in the mountains when a really fierce lightening storm struck the area. This was out of control - thundering, lightening like crazy - and I was living in a house made of all wood - I was sure that if lightening struck it - it would all go up in a plume of smoke like tinder. Instead of going bezerk I figured if this is IT, so be it, but I'm gonna do some praying before it happens. So I just started saying Psalms - throughout the storm. Louder and louder as the storm was right over the house. Then - it slowly moved away. And then peace with just some rain. It turned out ok for me and mine - but about 5 miles down the road a there was a lot of damage, downed trees and people injured and overturned houses.

Love it! I like walking in the rain (unless it's lightening)...then I just watch. I like grey rainy days...the sound of the rain on the roof.

...and there is nothing more beautiful to me than having a 6 inches of snow on the ground on a cold winter night and watching it come down non-stop... sparkling in the streetlights all night long...if you go outside it's so quiet it's like being the only person on earth. 8)

Too much sunshine drives me crazy. I like all kinds of rain (the light drizzly kind that makes the flowers smell fresher, thunderstorms, etc.), but as long as it's reasonably overcast I'm happy. Just not the dancing around, singing at the top of my lungs, getting looked at strangely/"are you sure you don't want an umbrella?" kind of happy rain makes me.

Doen here in San Antonio, we get rain and sun, though last Easter there was an ice storm that gave me 2 days of school, and some time during 1998 or 99 (can't remember the exact year, it may not be the afformentioned) there was a hailstorm that produced hail the size of tennis balls.

Yeah, I too love a good, whopping snowstorm. I like to hear the wind howl.

My favorite days are when it is cloudy and gray outside. I like that more than rain or sunshine.

I love stormy weather. I don't like cold, damp, drizzly weather. Unless it gets cold enough to snow. I'm fascinated with all types of storms and I get bummed when they bypass my area. Especially snowstorms. There have been so many storms that track just far enough south they miss Battle Creek. I don't like it if the power goes out for a few days because that disrupts my whole routines. Ice storms are different because they don't seem like a regular storm, but it sure makes the trees look majestic. I also don't like hot, humid weather in the summer. I'd rather have ridiculously cold temperatures than hot, humid weather. However, my asthma doesn't like either one. I'm rambling a bit here.

I LOVE "bad" weather. Anything from rain, to tornadoes. It's an obsession of mine.

I've dreamt of being a storm chaser since I was 7 (thanks to the movie Twister  ), but I doubt I'll ever get the chance to do it, at least not in the UK, dispite the fact that we get more tornadoes per unit area than anywhere else in the world.

Still, the tornadoes that we get here in England can't compare to the monster ones they get in the USA. They're HUGE over there and I'd love to chase them.

Everyone thinks I'm nuts when they find out I want to chase tornadoes. They either tell me I'm "going to die" and state it like it's a fact or that I'm just plain stupid. I hate it when people do that. They don't even try to understand.
