If you are worried about body odor just get some plain Ivory Soap and wash your bottom very well down there in the shower then while you are in the shower, wash your hands very thoroughly.

People with sensory issues can smell way more scents in general. NTs don't, so I think it is safe to say that the majority of people wouldn't be able to smell you even if you did have BO.

FRANKLY, as a man, I RESENT people making that implication. One commercial here almost states EXACTLY that women are all super clean, and men are dirty pigs. I thought I took short showers, though I clean EVERYWHERE, and I take longer than you.

HECK, I don't even want to wear a shirt more than 1 day.

Frankly, I hope alex shuts down this thread!

It wasn't an implication, it was a question.

NASA! They did a lot of fart research. That's a gremlin you're going to want worked out if you're sealed into a tin can with limited air.

I have the opposite problem as you. I really don't care what I smell like and sometimes it offends other people when I let myself go. I've been getting better about it though.

I think that there is more social pressure for women to smell......unnaturally pristine. A "masculine" smell usually indicates smell of sweat, whereas a "feminine" smell is usually perfume. This, however, will bring my onslaught of anti-patriarchal rhetoric if I were to expound thereupon.

OP,
If you think that your constant anxiety is cause be O.C.D., then cognitive intervention is unlikely to do very much. You have to fulfill your compulsion once it is triggered (the alternative being extreme distress), just like you have to stim when you get the urge. You can either accept the compulsion/anxiety or use an anti-compulsion technique (e.g. snapping a rubber band on your wrist). These are the only solutions of which I know.

(I accept my arrest from the social syntax police. I will use prescriptive language and will not dangle prepositions. Leaving anything to dangle is just.......wrong.)

I guess it depends on the person's upbringing including what mindfulness to personal hygiene that was ever taught as part of the family values.

Some people are very tidy with themselves, some are sort of "in-between", and others are just plain slobs who don't seem to care, and that applies to both genders.

As a former taxi driver I still remain amused at the irony of those who could afford to hire a taxi to get them to Point B, but couldn't "afford" a bar of soap.

I've had fares that smelled so bad that even in the thick of winter I had to drive them with my window down. Blecchh! :x

Speaking of smells, i'v heard of a perfume company that can make up practically any scent you want. I heard that a friend of my friend got some that smelled like coffee and books. 8O
