Actually, no. It's pretty recent. NLD isn't even in the DSM-IV actually. Officially, those with NLD have a diagnosis of LD-NOS.

I don't believe I have NVLD. I have distinct special interests, which aren't in the NVLD profile, but are definitely in the AS profile.

I found a good NLD article:

It describes the strengths and deficits associated with NLD very well. It mentions AS only briefly though- saying that those with very high-functioning AS might actually have NLD instead.
