I've at least seen it on the news, if not in person in years past.

We're both even in Phoenix...well, Chandler for me. I wouldn't be at all surprised if these people's houses are on the news, because it's really ridiculous just how much stuff they put up every single year...and they just keep adding more. What a waste of electricity to keep all those things inflated.

I absolutely hate the onus of having to go out and shop for gifts on the 9 or 10 mandatory holidays:

Christmas
Birthdays
Anniversaries
Valentines
Mothers'
Father's
Easter... etc.

Its too much f*****g shopping...

Yesterday I had an occasion to see an ugly, artificial, blue christmas tree. :x Looking at this monstrosity was to the detriment of my sense of aesthetics 8O

Sweet Jesus.

I like Xmas lights, just not particularly at Xmas...I'd rather have 'em strung up somewhere just because I had a whim to have lights wrapped around my chandelier, and tinsel in my hair...why wait for xmas?
At Xmas, it's always so decoration overkill, but I always think it's pretty right up until the moment it becomes decor overkill, and I can't have decorations at my house inside right now, one of my dogs is part coyote, and she could get hurt attacking the tree and ingesting things like lights and decorations.
As for those big inflated things on people's lawns? Somebody should put a bounty on their head; not the owner of the house....just the big inflated thing on the lawn...oh geez, now I sound like the Grinch....sigh.....

I agree. Total waste of resources. I have seen them on the news, and it even overstimulated me on the freakin' tv screen... :x

I don't really like christmas. one - i'm thoroughly non-religious and disdainful of religion in general. two it seems the literal interpretation of christmas = people coming out of the woodwork. i hate people. i hate woodwork.

the f***wits down the street have numerous inflatable christmas characters along with a disneyland parade of lights adorning just about every surface. yeah these are the people who have topiary'd their large bush to look like a giraffe (available throughout the year for your viewing pleasure), although the giraffe is sort of facing the house, so all one can see is mostly the south end of a giraffe facing north. technically speaking.

I can imagine so! I often walk by their houses when I take my dogs for walks. The ridiculousness is fascinating during the daytime.
