I've been diagnosed with Aspergers for a few years now, but after reading the wikipedia article on Schizoid personality disorder I thought I had it too. It so happens that my doctor (also a UCLA clinical faculty member) worked with the guy who did most of the original research on Schizoid and related personality disorders. Basically, my doc told me that schizoid and many of those disorders are all very outdated (the symptoms do overlap with ASD traits)...in other words, the next version of the DSM (DSM V) may not include schizoid as a personality disorder (for that matter, it may not be in DSM V at all, or it might be lumped in with ASD!). So, if I were you, I wouldn't think too much into it. Only time and new research will tell...
