I'd go into UK Big Brother and "take the piss" ever so slightly out of it all. Abuse the other people, just sleep, and vandalise the cameras and s**t like that. lol. Be sure not to say I'm an aspie though, then, I'd be labeled as a spastic and given the rights to do anything without being "told off". :D

I'll vote! I'm in England and from NZ but I lived in Aussie when I was a little kid, so I'll use my old address hahaha, I remember it even though we moved when I was 3!!

I'd love to vote for you, but I don't live in Australia. If you get casted I'd definitely watch! I'm sick of all those preps as well.

Cool video, by the way. :D

Seriously, I liked your video.

I was wondering how an AS person would do on Survivor the other night. I ruled myself out because I can't bear to be uncomfortable. But some nature freak tree hugger might get off on it.

Maybe we should just start campaigns to infiltrate as many reality TV shows as possible. We could start a Heather-lution!

Thankyou thankyou thankyou! To all of those who have nominated me! And thanks also to all those who just like my video!

Yeah, Liverbird, I'd love to try out Survivor, but there's no Aussie version of that (we had a couple of similar shows, but they bombed severely!). My favourite show to go on would probably be the Amazing Race, though I'd have trouble with the sleeping at odd hours, I mean I already sleep at very odd hours, but they are MY hours, decided by MY body and any resistance to those commands from my brain to SLEEP-NOW and I'm a wreck!

I think that sort of show would be the ultimate outside-of-my-comfort-zone type experience. But I have to say, I think I'm an extremophile. I flourish in completely chaotic and intense situations... It's real life that I have problems with and the ordinary world that stresses me out.

Oh, by the way. The "Seriously" clip at the end, I'm not sure if any US or UK TV stations use the same sweepers, but the channel that shows Big Brother here has that sort of thing for its promos.

Here's what I mean...

I've wondered that myself. I know that there's no way I could handle it...lack of comfort, lack of food, social interaction...bleah. I have my suspicions that a few seasons ago there was a guy on Survivor that was either an unknowing and undiagnosed Aspie, or just didn't advertise the fact that he was one.

Do you mean Yau-Man by any chance? I thought he was pretty cool! I related to him a bit as well, so maybe he is an Aspie.

The video is...umm...VERY humerous
especially at the beggining when you are holding up the "ass-burgers, free from restaurant" or something like that sign

I wish you luck and hope you get onto the show!

I didn't quite know what you meant until I woke up this morning with a sudden realisation! Yeah, another joke that overseas people might not get is the third sign.

A few years back there was a housemate on Big Brother who, when he was evicted, refused to talk to the host or anyone - he taped up his mouth and held up this sign...

I was having a joke at his expense. Even though I have no problem with his political ideals, I just think, if you want to get your message across, hold up your sign, but then talk about why you're holding up your sign. Otherwise people are going to think you're just a nutter and won't get your point of view at all!

Poor Merlin.

You have what it takes to stand up to at least a half-dozen mind-bending, throat-cutting guttersnipes all out for blood??

Wow.... you've got guts - or a death wish! :D

Good luck!

EDIT: Just watched your video - top notch!! :D

Thanks!

By the way, isn't it funny that an Aspie entrant has an ID number like 936639... Not that I'm a mathematical Aspie, it just seems like a really nice number for me.

:D

...9...
.639.
...6...

That seems like a regular day at the office for me! ;)

Yeah, I'm thick skinned... Now.

It has been used already... ;)

But.

They run normally... 1 2 3 4 5 etc. Why not just google an Australian address. Look up a company or something and use their street number, suburb, city but change the street number? ;)

I'm sure it won't matter too much.

It's all about ratings and if you are not smoking hot then you will not get on. Or you fit some minority slot that needs to be filled. No one cares about people with autism. Yes it would make the show a little more intersting, but would not put up the rating points that another pretty face will draw. It's just business.

Ah, but this year the public decides (supposedly) who goes into the house.

Plus I think there's a growing interest in Asperger's, as more and more people have heard of it but don't know what it is.

Also, I like to think I bring a certain something to the show even without my AS. And they've learned from previous years that hot but boring people are actually bad for ratings, and that ugly but interesting people get people tuning in and voting!

I think I have a shot at this, if I can get enough people behind me. :)

On second thoughts, it doesn't look like I have a shot after all.

I've just heard a lot of the people in the top 100 have openly told their already numerous friends to get multiple accounts and nominate them multiple times.

Looks like fairplay never had a foot in the door.
