No, Sid....you look like your avatar! I laughed when I saw this. It's a very funny picture because you look so much like your avatar. I found great humour in the idea. I hope you're not offended!

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I was at the Job Centre yesterday being interviewed which was fun. Basically they wanted to take details about me like where I live who I live with etc. I have no qualifications what so ever. But the person who interviewed me said that he was suprised as I seem to have the attitude and the intellegence of someone who has a lot of qualifications. Is this me or is this a normal AS thing?

I am told I look very intelligent, and in school I was super scrawny, preppy dressed and had glasses, people called me a white urkle from family matters.

I agree! She wasn't lying when she said Sid from Flushed Away is her twin! :D (I mean that in a nice way.)

Back to the OP. To be honest, I think I look like I'm not very intelligent. Especially when I'm lost in thought, which I usually am. I only look intelligent when my mind is blank. :(

Fortunately, professors and other highly educated people tend to think I'm smart after talking to me. People who are not so well educated generally don't, though. With people who are self-educated, it's not as predictable. I really wonder why my perceived intelligence is apparantly correlated with the education level of the observer.

If by looking intellegent, you mean wearing glasses, having braces on your teeth and wearing practical clothing [aka the typical geek] then sure...I must look smart.

I am not that smart at all though. I flunked out of high school officially when I was 15. Now I am living on a benefit for now until I find employment.

People often think that I am stupid because often I don't have a lot to say in conversations. It is really because I would rather use my intellect for better purposes other than talking about who kissed who.

If I wanted to, I could have an intellectual disscussion. These days though, I use my intellegence for studying things that interest me in my own time.

I do not 'look' intellegent. People are surprised I have a brain. Earlier this year, after 9 years on a job, during my review, I was told that "Your bankers say that you are real real smart -- real smart". I was like "and"? What am I supposed to say to that. I didn't think I looked like an idiot, but I must if people are surprised I can string two words together.

I'm quite the opposite. People take me for an idiot and seem surprised when they learn I'm a college graduate.
