I've jokingly entertained that possibility. Then again, is wanting to become a Buddhist monk all it takes to become a Buddhist monk or begin training to become a Buddhist monk?

Listen to metal music. Some interesting albums I would recommend for starters are Xasthur/Nortt split, Bergtatt by Ulver, and of course my eponymous album, Black Metal Ist Krieg by Nargaroth. Oh, and anything by Mutiilation, Vlad Tepes, Negura Bunget, Lykathea Aflame, T.O.O.H.!, Ruins of Beverast, Weakling, Marblebog, Drudkh, Grand Belial's Key, Burzum, Mistigo Varggoth Darkestra, etc, etc. totally rock.

If you like more mainstream metal, you would enjoy Averse Sefira, Sargathanas, Immortal, Emperor, Gorgoroth, Opera IX, and other such stuff.

Or you can start drawing and post stuff on deviantart.

Read books about dragons. That's what I do. Dragonology is a good series, and is perfect for dragon lovers. But, I guess you need to be interested in dragons before you read them. I'm also losing interest in video games, and I'm looking for other interests too.

What about travelling? It's a good way to learn who you are. I always enjoy looking through those "eyewitness" travel guides, and then going on google earth, mapping out possible treks for the summer. Plus if you have something to look forward to, you'll have more motivation, if that makes sense.

I've been told that finding one's PASSION is the key to finding one's interests. As of late, I have become greatly interested in getting Ron Paul elected to the highest office in the land, and that PASSION for change has got me involved in the local Ron Paul campaign (in Lincoln, NE, my hometown). That's just an example of something one could do to "have an interest".

Also, I have gotten intensely interested in a site called Librivox, where people contribute their own audio narrations of books which are in the Public Domain (not copyrighted), and I have contributed a few narrations of my own, and am even working on my own project. I am very much into the whole process of reading and recording, and this site is perfect.

So, what I'm saying is, find out what stirs you, what really grabs you (a good indicator of an interest is something neat and creative that you do a lot, and can't seem to stop WANTING to do). I'm not saying that you should let that interest consume ALL your time, but that when you get really into something, you will no longer be bored, and you will meet some cool people!!

Best thing to do is sit down & get a list of hobbies or interests & then start marking down ones you think are interesting, then when you got a selection think of what you would like to do first, or pick a top 5 kind of thing.

I don't think my hobby can ever run out, since I got my hand in every part of game programming...

Go on wikipedia and search a few things that you know absolutely nothing about. You never know, you might just find something that really interests you.

Ask family and past friends about things you once did, that you really enjoyed or showed a passion for.

From an AS perspective, are you aware of feeling or once feeling emotional excitement about anything?

Yes! But nowadays I rarely feel emotional excitement about anything.

Volunteer in a soup kitchen? This way all your bases are covered - time, space and interaction.

I have the same problem with getting interested in something at this time in my life. Maybe your reason is the same as mine? I've been criticized in every interest I've had; plus, whenever I believed I've done something well...it would not receive attention.

Think about what things in your life, besides your interests, you would like to improve on. And keep yourself busy on improving those things. When I lack natural interest to do anything, sometimes I think of what things could improve me and/or provide me with some useful knowledge while I do them.
