I can't find my exact opinion amongst the choices. It all depends on the relationship between my perceived enjoyment of the subject matter of the title vs. that of the actual thread. For instance, in this case I was pretty interested to hear how old you are and how, exactly, you got laid. The actual topic of the thread though, doesn't excite me all that much. It's clever - and the idea of "crying wolf" definitely appeals to me in a certain sense, and it seems like something I would do, but in this case, I would've much rather read about you losing your virginity. So, in this case, I'm not crazy about it, but I think that it has potential to be used humorously and enjoyably.

Another possibility is to think of a really horrible idea for a thread and put that as the subject. Then, when people read it, they are surprised to see that it is actually something quite cool - such as, a detailed account of you losing your virginity. This would be a way pleasantly surprise people, as they probably only clicked on your thread out of total boredom. However, the downside would be that fewer people would read your really cool post. If you only get off on crying wolf because you get a lot of people to click on your supposedly exciting thread only to find your pointless ramblings or whatever, then I guess my idea wouldn't cut it for you, but it's something to consider trying. In fact, maybe I will do it.

How?

Aspies like things to be what they are on the label.

Both autism and schizophrenia run in my family. It's moments like this that makes me think I might just be the latter and not the former. What are your thoughts?

Do I look like a doctor?

.................

Scratch that, I know my avatar is of one.

But I dunno. Just please stop making threads like this.

I really hope you aren't schizophrenic. In certain situations, especially when I am feeling really care free in any sense, by it due to depression, apathy, intoxication, I get a kick out of being almost "socially malicious" by doing random things just to throw people off, etc. Examples would be changing the subject at random or always bringing it back to a particular thing, usually something that I find hilarious and my friends do not. I've recognized how lame it is, though, and I'm growing out of it, so hopefully we are both aspies who can be annoying stooges from time to time but have the capacity to grow out of it.

psychedelic - When and if (that's a big if :D ) if you ever do get laid, no one will believe you!

Did you not get much attention as a child? Me either....I was raised by wolves. I'll let you know when I get laid - deal?

Oh, I forgot...what was this topic about really? The 'getting laid' part distrated me. It's an eye catcher, sort of like 'Free Beer,' except I do not drink (never have). Have you thought about that for a topic thread, btw?

Below is a subliminal message for you, psychelic, to decipher:

phallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbolphallicsymbol

Have you considered the 'make a wish' foundation? They make miracles happen (ie: getting laid), after all.

I do have wishes, they never come true.

To not believe me when I tell you that I have been laid is like believing that the sun goes around the earth. In both cases you're more than welcome to believe what ever you want but that won't change the truth value of either statement.

As a child, yes. From my teen years and afterwards, no. I am particularly lacking in female attention.

...you know, that sounds like a great idea....

As for your subliminal message, I think I inspired that thought in you as you read my post. It's nice to know that I can inspire such thoughts in women.

No I haven't but I do have a wish: I want to get laid more frequently.

That's a lie!! ! I'm sure you have had great things happen to you in your life. There are some wishes that will never come true but others do. Life's a b***h that way; gives you enough to hang on but not enough to be really happy.

In the poll options, where it says "I could care less"...

Doesn't that imply that the voter does care?

I think you were going for "I couldn't care less".

I'm not usually one to stickle over details, except when they completely change what I assume was the intended meaning.

Good luck with the aforementioned laying. I hope you lay the hell out of someone, even though that's not really what the thread was about :wtg:  :wtg:

A lot of people mistakenly say "I could care less," and that has always been a big pet peeve of mine, because as you point out, that implies that you care, which is the opposite of what that phrase is supposed to imply.

ToadofSteel - it's none of my business, and I'm sure you have your reasons for disliking internet dating, but if you really want to get laid, I would suggest not eliminating from your potential means a tremendous resource for doing so, that being the internet. It's true there are a lot of desperate crazies on the internet, but I had a successful relationship that lasted for quite a while which started on the internet, and we are still good friends today, so it's definitely possible.

That said, I have become frustrated by internet dating myself and have pretty much sworn it off, so take what I said with a grain of salt I guess.

If it isn't for real this time, then why say it?

What would you say then, when it was really for real?
